America is so gungho on keeping religion out of state affairs, yet when you go to cort, any level of the cort system, they may you swear on a bible. Should the swearing on the bible in a cort of law be baned?

I'm pretty sure that most courts have stopped swearing on the Bible.

A lot of stupid crap goes on in our country. The PATRIOT Act ruins the point of our bill of rights. It just happens.

Although the united states is "democratic" the ruling administaration is composed of theocrats. and therefore, the country qualifies as a theocracy.

Im pretty sure you have the option of swearing on the Qu'ran or doing something else if you are an atheist.
The country is not a theocracy, im sorry but thats just so blatantly ridiculous as to be laughable.
You have to remember that many American colonies were founded as an escape from religious persecution in the Uk and Europe. Puritans sailed West to find a country which allowed them to practice their branch of the Christian religion in piece. Therefore it is expected that a certain Christian influence will enshrined in country. To be fair a lot has been done to try to eliminate a Church and State connection including the outlawing of a prayer in State schools and the descision that the 10 Commandemnts couldnt be publically displayed somewhere.
If I were in court, there is nothing they could make me swear on to compell me to tell the truth - I'm just not superstitious.

Man that is mess up. The Ten Commanments are a major part in Chatolisim. I would hate haveing to be a Budist or a Jew and have to go to that building, no offence to Budist, Jews, or Catholics.
