In the newsparper it states that rumsfled ok'd certain interrogation techniqes like the ones at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. I know that much. What else is he doing, and is it a good thing? SOMEONE TELL ME!

Is it a good thing that Mr Rumsfeld has OK'd torture techniques? Hell no!
Torture of any kind is unacceptable!

rumsfield is ok'ing interrogation methods involving "stress and duress" keeping people on their feet for four hours at a time, poking, prodding, jabbing, withholding nutrition, etc. in the name of world justice. amen.
he's doing it to look like he's doing something. are we being fooled? no.

True. All the torture methods that occured in Guantanamo Bay, Abu Graihb, etc. were all taught to the contras, as well as many other corrupt regimes the U.S. funded throughout the Cold War.

Nothing Donald Rumsfeld does is good. He's so concerned about getting information from "detainees" that he's authorizing US military personel to do whatever the hell they want, even if it means violating the Geneva Convention.

In all senses any form of troutcher should be looked down apone. These detainess may not have information and the troutcher that they have had becomes abuse from the soldier. How are the people that the soldiers abusing going to trust them when they say that they are liberating their country.

This really isn't that surprising to me. We're historically a violent nation, so a little torture here and there, no surprise at all. Not that I'm condoning this kind of behavior, but it's definitely not the first time it's happened.

Well, America have had their appeal to make their troops immune from prosecution turned down. Looks like the International Courts can try them now for whatever they are doing in Iraq.
On a side note, Rummy is just demonstrating the image that most Americans perpetuate about themselves, they are above everyone else, its like a new msater race theory.

Because they are indoctrinated throughout their lives. When a lot of education teaches you that you are the best and this is further enforced by the media then you cannot help but develop an overwhelming superiority complex.
You have to realise that deep down America has things that it can be proud of. Fundamentally, the idea of equality and freedom for all is a good idea.

That would be if they actually used it.

The method of stripping Arabs to humiliate them was taught to the Americans by Israel.

I believe that on the document stating different "interrogation" techniques, he ok'd making the prisoner stand for 4 hours straight, but then scrawled a note "I stand for 8-10 hours a day, why is it limited to four?" Yeah, and I'm sure standing on carpet in an air conditioned office building with all of your "freedoms" intact is real "stressful" What an asshole.

Some one should kidnap Rumfuck and make him stand for 4 hours on cement bear foot and naked. Even better tie him up and put a piss socked bag overhis head, then play a shit load of white noise.
