I heard that Russia is changing from 15 independent republics in the country, into one big communist country. Is this trur or is someone pulling my leg?

I have heard that Russia was trying to return to a state of Stalinism. I dont know if this is true, but if it is, what is Russia looking at putting itself in to, and will it work for the country?

I doubt it Kobbler. Although communists still rally support in Russia, i doubt that they would go back to stalinism.

Still, if it was, we should defend stalinism if it were to be in power and defend it against capitalism.

There are a lot of people in the CIS states who want a return.

They definitely aren't returning to communism (:() as they have started to dismantle the communist health service that had doctors in every village.
Putin is just going after the oligarchs to get the support of the left, but there is now a big gap between the rich capitalists and the poor in Russia.

I hope Russia is able to get itself going good and hopefully return to Communism. The groups that are for Communism are willing and ready to help with the change.

I think Russi is a long, long way from returing to communism. Currently the government can be described as autocratic, a far cry from any socialist system. Putin seems to be consolidating power by the minute and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of opposition to his grab for power. Putin has done a good job eliminating all political opponents and negative media coverage of him, so unless there's a massive movement against him, and the economic and political direction the country is headed in, I don't forsee any change in Russia's political climate any time soon.

Is the US and other contries still practicing a policy of comtainment on Communism, or is that all over now?

What's all this talk of returning to communism? The USSR was never communist, and arguably was never even socialist, but a state capitalism.

The "return" should be a well-planned one, make it work this time,. have to consider all the factors given under this stage of hyper capitalism.

Russia never was communist (in fact none of the countries of the world), so they can't return to that

The US would only do this by declaring embargos. They wouldn't risk a military attack against Russia, like they did against Cuba. It's simply not worth.

It would really be good if Russia became socialist again after all; in Siberia and the eastern regions there is extreme poverty :( :( :(
The poor peasants and workers still want socialism back because then they had jobs and a possibility to learn and to get health care...

those of you who support State Capitalism idea were never bothered about the USSR collapsing, so i dunno why youve suddenly become sympathitic to the starvingmasses in russia since the counter-revolution in the USSR...
