If this is the modest mouse that I know, then hell yeah. I'm not really sure what you're sayin though. They sing that song such great heights or whatever don't they? If that's what emo sounds like, then I'm feelin it.

I was just thinking of posting something on Modest mouse but you got to it first lol.
Modest Mouse is one of the most amazing bands EVER! I sound like a fanatic and all but the music is just ridiculous. It makes no sense sometimes but makes perfect sense and yes thats probobly like alot of bands but... right in between making no sense at all.. it becomes pure poetry. Issac Brock is an intelligent, creative song writer.
And u have to admit.. a band who can use a banjo and occordian in songs and make it sound heavenly... they HAVE to be good!
Most people would think modest mouse being relatively unknown is a bad thing but honestly they have a fairly large fan base and dont need to really get any bigger. I love them being unknown to alot of people still. Most people wont be able to get the music because of the instruments and the arrangment of vocals but thats probobly the beauty of it. Its funny because on the new album, "float on" isnt even the best song lol. basically the band is very talented and has been around for mad years.

I've only heard one song by them, which is their most well known one that's mainstream. They're cool, although I'd like to hear more by them.

You hit the nail on the head with that post, I couldn't of said it any better. Modest Mouse is defenitely one of the best bands ever. I love how they talk about driving on lone highways out on the west and especially the universe.
I was little scared about how mainstream they were going and how Jerimiah Green (the orginal drummer) left the band, I truly thought the end was near for them.
I was pretty damn wrong.
Their new album Good News for the People Who Love Bad News is one of the best albums I have ever heard. The instruments they play are so diverse and unique given them their unique style/sound of music.
I've been a Modest Mouse fan for four years and I still have not gotten sick of ANY of their songs.

You've never heard of them DaCuBan? There fucking GREAT. I can't describe the type of music they play, they couldn't fit into any genre. Try somehow/someway to get a hold of some of their songs, their definetely unique. They've been around for basically ten years and have come out with some I personally believe they sing about shit that's real and that's mind provacative (or however you spell it). Their new CD Good News for the People Who Love Bad News is magnificent, more mainstream yes, but it doesn't freaking matter with this band.
One of their songs of their new album is titled The Good Time are Killing Me. They talk about, well, how all the good times are killing them, such as drugs, alcohol and other things.
A line from that song is :
Jaws clenched tight we talked all night, oh but what the hell did we say? The good times are killing me.
Another line:
Get sucked in and stuck in late nights with more folks that I don't know.
That's all normal teenage life (at least in Florida where I live).
