WOW! About 80,000 people there, the Chili's were amazing, James Brown was also amazing in support! Did anyone happen to listen to it on Radio1 or even go to it? You can listen to the whole show on the Radio1 webite!!

A housemate of mine went to the concert in Manchester.

Two other friends caught the one in London. (Front row seats!!! :o )

I'm not a huge fan... And by all accounts, the other "support" act ('Chicks on Speed'?) were lame; they got booed off in both cities - and the Chillis had a go at the crowd for doing so!! :P

My friend reckoned there were 350,000 in Hyde Park... Maybe he guessed a little high or heard a different source? No matter.

They all agreed that it was a super concert, though! :)

AAArrgh. Bloody radio 1 (Which I am forced to listen to at work, bleh.)
Have been going ON AND ON about it, I just wish they'd shut up already.
I think the RHCP are a very dull band. Why are they so damn famous all of a sudden? have they hyped up these concerts in an effort to boost record sales?

James Brown was also amazing in support!

James Brown? as in the Godfather of Soul? I would rather see him than the Chilli's any day.

Poo on the RHCP!

Red Hot Chili Peppers = most overrated band ever.

Listened to by smelly 13 year olds in novelty oversize jeans who overeat to compensate for their lack of friends.

And I never understood why a huge body of people makes for a better show. Surely it means you can't see anything, loads of people are drunk and annoying and someone probably pisses on your shoes??

Tomorrow I'm gonna see a hardcore band play to maybe 70 people in a pub backroom and I can't fucking wait. The smaller the better I say.

Well I just guessed at 80,000!! It isn't just the huge crowd (which adds to the atmospher) but the whole thing, it was immense!! Best gig EVER!! Chicks on Speed got booed off after 15 minutes I think, they were fucking terrible!

I missed stellastarr which was a pity because I've only ever seen them once vaguely when they were supporting jane's addiciton and I wanted to check them out properly. I didn't get into James Brown, not my thing, but there was one awesome guitar solo that got me going for a few minutes. I was with a friend down from scotland who'd never been to a gig before, so as sson as the chillis came on (can't stop) we headed over the the more mosh-pit-esque area and had an awesome time!

We had gold tickets so we were really near the front and it was awesome. The weather was great, the sunset was really beautiful and I was buzzing. I'm still aching but in such a good way. Anthony was not that great but the rest of the band were on really good form, and it didn't really matter about keidis since most of the crowd knew all the words anyway. Apart from falling over twice in quick succession and being hauled up it was great. Actually I quite enjoyed that, it was like being totally pissed without touching alocohol, but it had turned into a bit of a circle pit (just a bit) and I thought I'd get out of the way for a little. At this point I'd sent my friend down the front cos she didn't want to "mosh" and I was dying to. Yeah, it was good. And like my mate said, the good thing about going to see a band that's made loads of money is they can afford to splash out on the graphics, which were seriously cool. I think my faves were when the pupils dilated during Under the bridge, and the whole cartoon strip thing for Californication.
