I mean do you honestly listen to someone of a different political persuasion? Or do you simply assume that what they say is wrong, simply because they are affiliated with a political group you disagree with, that their statement is wrong.

I mean to the right wingers...would you go see Farenhiet 9/11 and not simply tune out what Michael moore says and actually listen?

Leftists...would you ever listen to Rush limbaugh and hear him out? Or would you turn off the radio the second he starts speaking?

Personally, I don't consider my self to partisan. Sure i"m more accepting of leftist ideas, but that doesn't mean I totally write off the right...(no pun intended)

I mean I regularly watch the O"rielly factor and ocassionaly...ocassionaly being the optimum word here, find my self agreeing with some of his comments

And on CNN's cross fire my favorite Pundit is Tucker Carlson, a conservative libertarian. And I personally think he is the most level headed of the pundits on that show or any political show on the major networks

Depends on the speaker, I can't listen to Howard (PM of Australia) with out getting really shitty and I start through stuff at the TV or Radio. I used to be able to listen to Jim Bacon (but then he died) (ex-Premior of Tasmania).

Really I can listen to basicly anyone who isn't blatently wanting to remove civil rights or increase the power of either the rich or the right-wing govt.

I am definitely partisan...when I listen to baseball on the radio, I turn the sound off when they play the national anthem. I've heard Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, and a few of the others for a few minutes while searching for a station to listen to...but 5 minutes or so is my limit. It's like listening to Radio Berlin in 1936!

Fortunately, I don't own a dummyvision set so I never see the crap that is so apparently abundant thereon.

I have read a few books by serious conservatives...though I can't honestly say that I've learned anything particularly useful from them. They can be articulate and even witty...but their paradigm is so different from mine that to all intents and purposed it's like reading the works of space aliens. Whatever planet they're talking about, it's definitely not Earth.

By "the law of large numbers", it's inevitable that right-wingers will occasionally get something correct...but it's buried in such a mountain of crapola that it's not worth the trouble, in my opinion, to search for it.

I don't like Michael Moore.

Leftists...would you ever listen to Rush limbaugh and hear him out? Or would you turn off the radio the second he starts speaking?

Not only would I not hear him out, if I saw him I would hit him in the face with a lead pipe.

I mean I regularly watch the O"rielly factor and ocassionaly...ocassionaly being the optimum word here, find my self agreeing with some of his comments

I watch O'Reilly, and usually it just makes me angry so I have to turn it off. I never "agree" with him on any issue.

Fuck Tucker Carlson, that little **** should be shot.

I have read books by David Horowitz, Paul Johnson, and various other conservatives.

It is usually just a waste of time.

I think that declaring something wrong because the ideology of the person telling it is dogmatism and is destructive for society. Without debates we would never progress! I'm rather liberal and I don't consider myself a partisan. Not at this aspect.

He often makes me angry too, but I realize that he's doing this on purpose

Well, I do read all kinds of conservative literature at times, but their lack of effect on me isn't due to any defensive action on my part, it's generally because of the stupidity actively assaulting me and my intelligence.

Seriously, what else am I supposed to think when reading some libertarian claiming that dismantling environmental regulations will actually be better for the environment?

I am most definitely partisan. I hate listening to people that have a different political persuasion than I do.

To put it mildly:

FUCK RIGHTY

You're right, that would make a great shirt. It'd be cool if I can have it right in time for the Republican convention so i could walk around MSG with that shirt on.

Not if you have a gun in the other hand.

Or a bat if you want to go the lesser route to fame.

no need for violence.... well actually, there probably would be. right-winged people in the U$ have a history of killing off those who have a philosophy different to their's. not to mention those of a different religion, color and so forth.

I try to be, everybody should. Comes with the subjects in college, I kind of have to read people most leftists would never touch. I have got some odd looks of people in college when I carry some Rand or whatever because I might be looking into objectivism in college or whatever.

I dont watch tv except the Irish news so thats not a problem and I read a fairly right wing newspaper, The Independant (Irish) other than that Im not sure.

No, I do not consider myself partisan. The only time I will not listen to a debate is when one resorts to "U.$=Evil" techniques or vice versa when a right-wing extremist uses "Glorious Benevolent U.S.A Bush=God" debates.

Sooooooo true. One of the few cons that I agree with sometimes since he doesn't sink to the liberals=anti-americans crap that many other's do. You should check out Tucker Carlson: Unfiltered on PBS sometime. It's quite good. Last time he attacked liberals on AA in Havard because some liberals were complaining that AA was used to help African immigrants instead of African-Americans and thus not helping those who were the decendents of slaves. He said it was ridiculous how the liberals can think that someone that grows up in the states should have preference over someone that grows up in an african slum. And that in that case, he approved of AA since it really helped people in bad situations in Africa. Quite good guy. There is one con that I really dislike however. Even seen Scarbourgh(sp?) Country on MSNBC Lardlad?

Well, I'm only in the 8th grade so I don't really hear much political debate in school and such, but when I do it's all pro-Bush, how he's so great, but the thing is, they never have any actual real reasons to why Bush is God, he just is. But, listening to them just pisses me off not only because Bush is a dumbass, but because they have no idea what they're talking about, most deserve a punch or two in the face.
