Yeah so they're probably guilty of being misogynistic in a typical Noo Yawk reactionary gangsta way in the past, and they've probably supported capitalism or something, but hey fuck it, you can't follow through boycott politics 100%. Their choons are the fucking tits.

My favourite song is "Sure Shot".

Fortunately the 'curse of the beastie' has only ever affected me in computer terms ;)

I've never understood what's so good about their music... people around me have ranted and raved about it, but I've always found the beats banal, and the lyrics ingratiating.

You need to understand. Being one of the few hip hop groups to renounce the whole Bling Bling bullshit sex and partying look is very respectable. Also to one of the maybe handful of rap groups to be around for more then 20 years is damn good it obviously means something. I like some of their stuff but Intergalactic sucked, oddly enough return to the... has been hailed as their return to form despite all the lryical and personal contradictions and the fact that they are now no longer seen as a token white rap act but an old token white rap act. Mentalbunny: My advice to you is to check out Paul&#39;s Boutique and Liscense to Ill first. Ill Communication is a good album, but the other two are more representative of their roots. Intergalactic was pretty good as well, as others have suggested, but pretty experimental. You might not like it without an appreciation of their older stuff.

As far as the accusation that they&#39;re political posers, I don&#39;t know where that even comes from. The B-Boys are the ones who started the annual Tibetan Freedom Concerts after all.

They have some very good songs, the ones mentioned in this thread. But I think they have a lot of bad songs too. I only liked a couple of songs on their most recent album. They some inconsistent to me, a lot of their beats are very bad and thats a shame because their rapping is usually very good.
