Hey comrades.
If there was a communist revolution in the u.$. or canada (we'll just call them both the u.$) then the corporations wouldn't be around anymore but we would still have remnants of corporate america. Office buildings. But what to do with them? to demolish them would be quite a waste. I think that it would be good to cover them with solar panels and have little wind turbines sticking out beetween the panels so that they would become power stations. but what do you guys thinkwould be better?

but seriously. we could give ppl a new home there. ( make the usa a place where everybody can go to ! ). we probably have those usa installed dictators in other parts of the world, so those opressed ppl we could start importing to the usa to truly experience freedom!

They can be used as Free luxury apartments for homeless people.
Keep them going, only re-distribute cash better, for a true socialist community

Sounds like the America I know now. The only difference is that USA really doesn't have freedom.
How could you ensure that communism will be there for a long time, or forever? You only have to look at some recent and ancient examples to see where communism has failed (eventually, due to no fault of the real communists).
Anyway, count me out, I prefer a socialism. :)

As far as I'm concerned, socialism and communism are very similar, except communism has a manifesto, and see's the class struggle as something inevitable, and expects that the workers will install a clasless monyless society.

1- doesn't killing people based on what they did before the "revolution" strike you as wasteful? And, under a true democracy that I see most of the communists describing, wouldn't they have the right to live?
2- Shriners international. FUBU. The majority of american dirt farmers from the midwest. Most health organizations (once you do away with the HMO's). Numerous universities. Several non-Microsoft computer companies. I'm sure there are more, I just can't think of them right now.

Yes Socialism and Communism are similar except in Socialism the government has more of a part to play in the affairs of the people, somewhat as a "parent" ,they start them off to collective ownership etc. In Communism the government is more there has a guide rather then a a socialist one. Which is followed by Anarchism where there is no government required at all.

I agree totally with Kamo that we must use these offices, corporations etc to our advantage. When the Revolution comes there is no point in destroying the remains of capitalist society but take the remains over and use them to create a just society. Businesses like Nike, McDonalds etc should still remain but that their whole system should be changed. Workers paid a proper wage, clothes made for necessity, not wants etc.

If all industries are nationalised, there is only 'company' in eachsector of the economy (one fast food restaurant, one clohes manufacturers etc.). As there are several under capitalism, there will be a lot of unused buildings after the revolution (the ones that didn't get blown up in it, that is).
There will always be something neede. Once people's needs are fulfilled by the state production, we can move on to making luxury items.

i didnt meant to kill the ppl working in mcdonalds just the business as itself. the company should be over with.
and to the ppl who want to keep them ( and changed for the better ). who in the world woul want to eat at mcdonalds when they realize it is not cool. think about it the only ppl who go there are parents ( commercial brainwashed kids ). and teenagers (even more brainwashed were possible ). so noboday woul go there so its really pointless to keep them.
