What is the name of that love song that gets used in comedies all the time? It's most often played with two people running toward each other in a field in slow-mo. I know its not a political song, but I'm going to put it to a good purpose.

It would probably help if you provided an example of a movie in which the song is played.

Hmmm... well, I astonishingly can't think of any. Do you ask because you have no idea which song I'm talking about? Or because you want to use it as a means of finding the name?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I know what you're talking about.
Sorry comrade, I don't know the name of the song.

I think you are talking about that "Chariots of Fire" theme song. By John Vangelis I think.

My vote goes for Minnie Ripperton's Loving You, but ahhh that's not the song I don't think.

or "Why do Birds suddenly appear"

perhaps "Moon River" ?

Archpremier

Hmmm... It could be "Chariots of fire". I'll look for all of those.

Archpremier

No, no. None of those were it. This one's really old. I'll try to make a midi of it to show you.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Digital Ear came back up, and I made a short midi of the first part. Now at least everyone will know what song I'm talking about.

It FREAKING well sounds like "close to you" by the carpenters and i reckon it is. Someone already told you but misquoted it as "why do birds suddenly appear", giving that you've already been told the answer and not realized I am now writing you off as an inattentive person who asks a question then doesn't pay attention to the answer. But maybe I'm wrong about the song which makes me a fool not you. But for now let's suppose you to be the fool

this ring any bells?

"Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?

On the day that you were born
and the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust
in your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue".

you might know it from something about mary, when he's takin a piss. Also the simpsons once joked about this song being cliched it was in the episodue where marge wanted a doorbell that played the song. But it is used in heaps of other generic papp movies

It's not that... but I'm damned if I can tell what is is

Sorry, La Vista, but, as you yourself claim, you ARE the fool. It is NOT "Close to you." Thank you for the guess, though. (Is my midi really that bad?) No, no, this song has no lyrics that I am aware of, which makes matters all more confusing.

That midi doesn't set off any bells for me. Can you name a movie that it was in?

Sorry, I can't. I've made a slightly better version of the midi, with the beginning fixed, and with some more of the song tacked on. I'll be absolutely dumb-founded if nobody recognizes it. If you don't though, I guess I can always rent a bunch of movies and find it in one. Anyway, here's the new midi.

Sorry I was in a bad mood when I typed that, but your original is faintly similar to a really shitty composed midi of "close to you" I listened to the most recent version and..... I have no idea. No lyrics you say hmmmm? Well I really want to know now, damn I love being a fool (pure bliss.)

Archpremier

That's fine, La Vista. All is forgiven. I think I have an idea of a show it might have been in, but I'll have to get back to you on that.

I FOUNF IT! *Que choir to sing out "Haaallelujah!"* It's Tchaikovsky's "Romeo & Juliet". I will now procede to do wondeful things with it. Just give me a clip of Bush walking toward Blaire... or maybe walking with Blaire in a park... OR BOTH! (hehehe)

AH! Finally! But I have just5 attempted downloading...There are specific songs of Romeo and Juliet. There aren't many by Tchaikovsky to download. Can you specify?

I've never heard of that song's title, how odd. Why aren't we taught these common-used lyric-lacking song titles...

I have a C.D. with it on it. I'll try and get it to you if you can't find it.
