Have any of you been watching CNN this morning?

The israeli army seiged his compound this morning , arrested about 60 palestinians, Arafat is confined to the second floor with only 2 aids and a couple rifles, (says CNN) they had nasty footage of tanks firing on his compound.

Many palestinians are marching to show support.

If arafat dies, its curtains for israel compliments of the rest of the middle east...

Sharon doesn't want Arafat dead. He realizes that Arafat is of more use to him alive but neutralized. The situation really sucks, especially when there isn't a clear solution (I'm not trying to defend Israel, really I'm not, but I'm just lost).

They've made all the possible errors with their big saying about shahids... Araft does not act as a leader when he says lets go gets their civilians in the heart of Jerusalem, and his people follow him. Israel is even worse. The government is stupid, it's a "united" government in which all parties have a share. So this neutrelizes anyone with any moderate views, and all the leftist elements. As much as I'd like to see Arafat alive, and I don't think Sharon is going to kill him, it would be great and ironically funny if Arafat wasted some Israeli soldiers with that Mini-Uzi. Hahaha.

I think sharon is tryiing to destroy him. How can the Israelies talk about viable and fair negotiations when they are practically holding a gun t o the head of the person they are negotiating with.

The Israelis are basicaslly starting world war 3. If arafat is killed then iraq will get involved. Because in the middle east countries borders are irrelivent. There are arabs and jews. If arafat is killed the iraqis will take revenge, as well as saudi arabia who have pledged alligence to the arab states under siege by israel and the west.

I think Israel has gone to far...What is the problem with Israeli people... When Barak was a prime minister there was peace... And Israeli people have chosen the man who started the newest raids... And don't forget Sabra and Shatila... And so they expected that Palestinians will do nothing... The biggest mistake for middle east was choosing Sharon for prime minister...I find him responsible for everything that happened in last 2 years...
Sharon has gone to far... What is he trying to do? Holocaust on Palestinians? New Sabra and Shatilla?
