Specifically communist/socialist?? I don't know. Leftist, the list is infinite or at least very long. Are you thinking of certain style or genre? Folk, punk, hip hop, reggae, rock?

Some Bob Dylan songs and Joad Beaz songs are good. They accused her of beign a Communist many times.

Of course Rage Against the Machine

The International Noise Conspiracy are good and they use quotes from Marx and sometime Rosa Luxembourg. Although really, they are anarchists, similar to redstar2000 and people like him.

Immortal Technique is a good rapper who is very much left-wing. Dead Prez similarly. Sepultura are a socialist metal band.

There is a lot of other stuff, I'm only mentioning things I listen to personally.

Off the top of my head, and without repeating any of the aformentioned artists, KRS-1 and The Coup are always good bets. Bruce Springsteen, although not a soc or a commie, has been known to do some pretty activist civil rights stuff (Rage did a cover of his song The Ghost of Tom Joad and he won an award from the NAACP for his song American Skin, after all). Most punk can be fairly leftist. Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Pennywise, and NOFX have been known to do some fairly left-leaning political stuff.

The Adjusters
Dead Kennedys

Neurotics aka Newtown Neurotics (if you like the Clash, then you really need to check these guys out)
Stiff Little Fingers
MDC
DOA
Subhumans
Citizen Fish
Reagan Youth
Dayglo Abortions
The Tossers
Crucifucks
River City Rebels
Hudson Falcons

Redskins - 80's English band. Punk/Soul cross over. Look out for a DVD of the band getting released soon.

The Strike - - Great American band. Sound a bit like early Jam. Their second album "Shots Heard 'Round The World" is well worth getting. Great cover of the Newtown Neurotics "This Fragile Life".

Les Partisans - - French band. Influenced by the Redskins.

The Che Men - - English band. Can be heard on the Redskins tribute EP "A Flame That Can't Be Dimmed".

I just bought The Strike's 2 albums this week. They are well worth getting. They sound a bit like the early Jam. The Strike have a website at - http://www.thestrike.us/ where you can download their video for "Shots Heard 'Round The World".

Hooray! I found a guy called Robert Wyatt, he's a socialist, and although he's a little weird, he does some good stuff. Here's his version of the Internationale, and he chose the verses that don't sound completely ridiculous (the music kind of reminds me of the terminator theme though).
