I just listened to an Atlantic LP from when he was a tender 27 years old.

Great stuff, too. His voice at that time was smooth as velvet, but not what it would later come to sound like.

I heard the news yesterday night at my grandmother's house on TV. Really sad. He was truly a great musician.

Here in Sao Paulo he is very admired. In '95 his concert here in the city in Parque Ibirapuera was the concert which attracted the second most peope to that venue. And the most famous Brazilian and international artists have performed there.
