Should we all contribute so a basic principles of communism type thing, it would be useful for any newcomers. I know I certainly could have done with something like this when I joined the site, I knew hardly anything!

Maybe some basic Marx, dialetics, labour theory of value and some of the political stuff as well!

Yes, something like a "communism FAQ" would be a good idea.
Could help to avoid lots of the tedious "communism goes against human nature" arguments. Or the common questions on expropriatation, or braindead comparisons between communism and national socialism, or between the ukraine famine and the holocaust

I could write a critique of that stupid Von Mises article people keep posting ("National socialisms' debt to Marxism" or whatever it's called,) I would quite happily do that.

Marxism - Basics (http://www.comcen.com.au/%7Emarcn/redflag/archive/harman/hmw/index.html)

I found this linkie, while looking around for stuff, I read through it all and thought it was pretty good. Maybe we should be create a guide, with links, essays, critiques etc and Sticky it!

I'll do one if you like TAT, I've got a week of free time coming up.

In fact I was going to do brief definitions/descriptions of the major ideologies anyway, for beginners or those whose expertise was generally limited to Leftist ideology.

For example: brief explanations describing Liberalism, Conservatism, Ecologism etc.

Those are int he che-lives dictionary I think, if not, let's add some of them.

As for principles of communism, someone should do a "Marxism for dummies" thread.

We have added the che lives dictionary in here, so I think that any additions, not necessarily to that, but any kind of FAQ's and lists of relevant definitions wouldn't go a miss...I think its a fine idea...go for it and then we can look at it and add our comments.
