EXTREMISM, XENOPHOBIA RISING IN RUSSIA (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=518&e=19&u=/ap/20040609/ap_on_re_eu/russia_racism_2)
Take a look at this. I've heard about this before, but largely wrote these guys off as a small group of very misguided souls, but apparently there is a fairly large skinhead movement in Russia. Of all the people who could possibly embrce the Nazi/fascist ideology you would think the Russians would be the last.

this is what happens when capitalism is introduced. everybody all of a sudden wants to be a fascist.
fucking disgusting, what id do to have an AK in Moscow and blast all these fucking leeches away.
Man, those guys are sick!
Didn't those Russian skinheads riot when they lost a football match at the last world cup?
They sound awfully like the BNP to me.

You know that scence in the simpsons when Lenin gets raised from the dead and wanders about, CCCP reforms etc.
Be cool if that happened, slightly worrying as wel!

I wonder how this will effect nazis in other countries? If they accept their russian 'brethren' that would make Hitler the biggest race-traitor in history...

I doubt it some how. The thing with Nazis today is that there so petty and extreme that they dont get on well atall. Infact Polish Nazis have been involved in fights with German Nazis, the Polish Nazis thinking Germans have stolen all their jobs and issues over land and such.
For those of you who live in the UK I would reccomend you buy or atleast try to find copies of the magazine 'Searchlight', its a anti-fascist magazine which not only concentrates on fighting and exposing the local fascists (BNP, National front) but also has great detail on Nazis in the rest of Europe. I've met the woman who takes part in editing it and such and she goes to local election troublespots (i.e where the BNP are looking at getting votes) and helps local activists expose their criminall past.
Sought of off topic but two of my other comrades who live together were a few years ago fire-bombed by the group Combat-18 because they were distributing anti-fascist material. Apparently they had special branch come over to their house.
Anyway Fascism/Nazism represents a horrific set back for societies, Dmitroff and the Comintern described it as 'The Terrioristic Dictatorship of the Bourgesie' and I'd say they are still spot on. We must not forget that the Nazis did have and today have their backing from the bourgesie, there Capitalists just like Uncle Sam. If they become a serious force it will be because the bourgesie has no option than to put them in nominally in charge.
With the growing rise of serious non-revisionist Communist movements in Russia today they may just be tempted to back these Fascists. That and the fact the Fascists attempt to appeal to the petty-bourgesie and throw around Soviet slogans would make them a perfect government for the Russian Capitalist class.

I heard some of these neo-Nazis in Russia use peace symbols and other methods to attract people into their ideology. It's very sad something like this would happen in Russia, out of all places. Something needs to be done about this rising Nazi/Fascist movement...
I think first off the communist party itself in Russia must blame itself for being traitorous to the ideology of communism itself with accepting the market as a solution, and betraying the workers of russia who are looking for an alternative to the market.
Is the Russian communist party the same one as it was in 1917?
Nope, the leadership has completely changed, full of right wing bureaucrats, not willing to fight for revolution, even leaning for nationalist tendencies, a complete disgrace

The communist party wasn't the same since Lenin died. The fact that the Soviet Union collapsed was really no surprise. However, what is a surprise to me is that no one is willing to get it right a second time around. Perhaps its too soon for that. Perhaps the Russian people need to see more of the corruption and bullshit atributed to the establishment of a capitalist system.
i dont its a people problem, i think its a leadership problem.
There is no communist alternative in Russia which the Russian workers can see. The workers are ready for change, but it is not visible, Zhuganov and his cronies in the party are all right wing tossers who needd to be got rid of

Well, it could be a leadership problem but it would be up to the workers and the people looking for change to overthrow that leadership either democratically(seldom works in a capitalist society) or by revolutionary means. Thats why I believe the more they get fed up the more they'd be willing to bring about change. Even if its a creation of a new socialist/communist party that firmly roots itself in the soil of Marxist-Leninism(the democratic way which I still don't think works), at least its a start.....
Somehow I doubt that the communists will ever be allowed back into power in Russia. The people have suffered at the hands of people pretending to be communist, and they're not going to forget that.
Russian security services probably wouldn't let them either, and we all know what the U$ would think...
