Playboy is hoping to entice some of the women who lost
their shirts in the Enron scandal to reveal a little bit
more.

The magazine is putting together a "Women of Enron"
pictorial and is inviting employees past and present to
send snapshots of themselves in bikinis if they wish to
pose.

"This is an opportunity for them to do something fun in
the midst of the turmoil that's going on in their lives.
These are women who are out of a job," Playboy
spokeswoman Elizabeth Norris said. "We are offering
what you could view as a part-time job, or what might
turn into a new career."

Plenty of women at the heart of scandals have appeared
on Playboy's pages, including televangelist mistress
Jessica Hahn.

"That's rich," said Deborah DeFforge, co-chairwoman of
the Severed Enron Employees Coalition. "We've had so
much depressing news or stressful news, and then to all
of a sudden come up with something like that, it's kind
of cute."

DeFforge said she would not pose, but added: "I'm sure
there are some in the younger set who would be
perfect."

I'm certainly not a Playboy subscriber, but that magazine published an interview with Abbie Hoffman when no one else would, was one of the first to have an integrated staff (and when Hugh Hefner had his own TV show, he made sure that there would be a mix of black and white people working together) and I've had some Playboy articles e-mailed to me and they're pretty good. Since I'm not attracted to women I've never had any use for the photos, which is why I don't have any porn subscriptions, but I'm not offended by them. There are worse things than porn out there. Has it ever hurt anyone? I know some girls who strip because otherwise they wouldn't be able to pay for college. And I'd like you to name just one country that banned porn but had freer speech than America, Stalinsoldiers. All of the countries whose freedom of expression laws are the kind that I think should be adapted here in the US are countries that haven't restricted (or, as you said, "abolishesed", as if it's enslavement of people who can't spell) porn. It's not the hope of democracy and freedom, but it's become a measuring stick nonetheless.

So if it's a communist democracy we're talking about, the people could choose through direct voting to start a porno service and then any wannabe-porn stars who don't like their jobs could try out. I agree that no one should have to be a stripper just to pay for college, but if someone wants to be a stripper and someone else wants to hire a stripper . . . as long as they're consenting adults, there's no problem with that in my book.

Christianity and lots of other religions dictate that adultery is wrong, but I've been going out with a Christian for a year and a half and we have sex on a very regular basis. If a Muslim couple (or any couple, for that matter) does not want to have sex until they're married, that's fine with me. I'm not saying that people should be required to fuck all the time. But if people choose to have sex, that's their choice. And you seem to want to restrict the choices of others, instead of just remaining a virgin and not preaching.

Communism is not a set of social rules about sex or drugs (or rock and roll, for that matter). Communism is an economic system, plain and simple.
