Hi, I heard off someone on another forum who is usually quite reliable and mature that US companies deliberately extend conflicts in places like the Congo for profit. I can't find this post in the forum anymore, and I was trying to remember what type of companies these were, how they made profit and extended conflicts....
Also I just verification that it's true.

Indeed its true!-
Coltan, a mineral -used in mobile (cellular) phones and in video games players , such as x-box and PS2, among other technical things (I just can't remember)- Coltan Is mined only in Africa, in the jungles of Congo and adjoining countrys.
A war broke out as militas fought for the rights to mine, Rwanda invaded Congo on the side of militas to secure there profits from the mine and war. The war has cauesed a refugee crisis and famine. Around 1 Million are belived dead!!
All the while comanys such as Microsoft and Sony (among many others) are contenouing to reap the profits from this brutal and un- just war. The topic of this war is very quiet in the world.... most people in the world don't seam familiar with this topic. The war only made waves in the world conciounce when Leoanardo Di Caprio made an issue on the destrouction of the gorillas (the apes) native habitat.
Sorry I don't have any links!

Thanks. That's pretty fucked up....I can't believe this doesn't have any controversy surrounding it.

Because capitilist media barons run the country. They want profits, they dont want controversy so they leave that piece of news alone.

-sorry, misread-
What makes you say capitalist media barons run the country? Do you mean the Congo? Do you have anything to support this?

I have evidence of that, or at least information.
Facts: 90% of the media is controlled by a network called the GMN (Global Media Network)
Approximately 400 stories are killed off and 'forgotten' due to them containing an 'anti-corportae' agenda.
The 9 corporations that dominate the GMN are:
Time, Warner, Disney, Bertelsman, Viacom, News Corperation, Sony, AT&T-TCI, Universal and GE-NBC.

Do you have proof of the existence of GMN? Is it publically recognised? If so, do you have a link to the website?
And how do you know all this :P
Sorry to be skeptical, but it's necassary to get to truth. Ignorance is the root of all evil.

Its not a rumour or a lie, but the evidence lies in the contracts between the media giants.
All the information I have i got from an extra feature on The battle for Mexico City, 'Rage context'
