Who here has seen the new HP film? I went last night and was suprised by huge improvement over the first two.

The acting was much much better (still reeks of cheese those) and Hermoine has tits!! (:D hehe)

Alfonso Cuaron directed it very well, y mama el tubein (sp?) was a good film and I will have to check out some of his other stuff now!

What does everyone else think of it?

I havn't seen the the movie yet, but i think Azkaban might be my favorite of the HP books. But I was surprised at how the commericals pronounced the title, I thought it would have been more like "Ahz-Kah-Bahn."

I watched it today and was quite pleased with the movie. I was never a Harry Potter fan. Ithink the book is overrated but I have seen parts of the first two movies and now I saw the whole of the third one and I find it quite interesting. The effects were really good. I agree, the acting was a bit better. And yes, Hermione has grown tits.

And Ron looks so much like Joel/ Chairman Mao :P

I thought it would have been more like "Ahz-Kah-Bahn."

These would be US adverts? I'm sure it was that phoenetical pronunciation in the UK...

My friends said we were going out for a drink, but instead they wanted to go to this film. It is the worst film I have seen in a while. I couldn't wait for it to end because its so boring and stupid. Everything about the film is bad, the acting, the boringness etc.

The only good thing about it was the special effects, which was pretty much every second of the film. It must have been really expensive to make.

And Ron looks so much like Joel/ Chairman Mao

LOL, I'm not sure about that but a couple of others people have said that.

Maybe so, it could be along the same line as changing Philosipher's Stone to Sorceror's Stone for the title of the first book.

Maybe American English just has a tendancy to change Ahs to short As.

What's so bad about Harry Potter? They're not the greatest books in the world, no, but there's nothing to suggest that "adults" (I shall adopt a fairly loose definition here; for the benefit of certain members who shall remain anonymous!) can't read them too. I enjoyed "The Cat in the Hat" when I re-read it. And the Harry Potter books themselves weren't so bad either - I actually liked "The Goblet of Fire".

The films... I hated! They DID try to appeal to kids, just to try and make as much money as they could. The scum. I haven't seen the third yet, though.

Books are good. Films are... well, shallow. They just go for the action and miss out on the reality of the books. It misses out on a lot of things.

Isn't the Hakuna Matata ideology supposed to be a bit stupid? Sort of "lie back and don't give a shit about your responsabilities. Let the others do the work."
Guess it is ok for when you are high, but you have got to snap out of it at some point.

Hate Is Art

Miss out on the reality of the book? which bit of the reality did they miss out on? Not enough dragons?

Well I watched the film on saturday, it was pretty good. Though they did add a few beits a remove grewat big chunks of the story.

Far better than the first too.

I then spent all of yesterday reading book 5 the order of the phoenix. I am quite proud finished in one day. (well thats not strictly true, I finished it at around 4AM this morning.)

A part in the prisoner of Azkaban, or a part in the goblet of fire? I dont think he had a part in either of them...

I've also heard that Rowan is going to act Woldemort in "The Goblet Of Fire" but I'm not sure if this is true.

Anyway, I've read the first four books and despite there are some members of the forum that are underestimating the work of J.K.Rawling I must say that I've been more than impressed. But the first two films are disgusting, there isn't a chance that somebody that hadn't read the book could get the point and the same feeling. I hope that they have been improving greatly in "The Prisoner Of Azkaban".
