View Full Version : The Lysander Manifesto

Basically, I had a little free time this dark, wet evening and decided to envision a "party" or a "movement" that fits in my ideals perfectly. When it all said and done, I ended up writing a crude blueprint titled "The Lysander Manifesto."

"Lysander" is a reference to my name when I'm rippin' microphones and performing - Julian Lysander. "Julian" means 'youthful' and "Lysander" means "liberator." Thus, I guess it roughly means "The Liberator's Manifesto." I hoped to especially embrace freedom.

Anyway...

THE LYSANDER MANIFESTO

The Lysander Manifesto is divided into several interdependent parts, discussed seperately but are nonetheless equally related to one another and fully applicable to the Individual.

Special care has been taken in order to cater to each Individual as the Movement understands the unique nature of each being. Regardless of our differences, however, there remains only one direction for progress -- and that is forward. Thus, each Individual, while retaining uniqueness, will nonetheless share profound and indisputable similarities with others within the Movement.

The Movement cannot be labeled and shifts ideology and tactics with each passing day in order to adhere to the realities of changing circumstances. It is very elastic, and permanent; the Movement will never cease to exist even after all of its current goals are reached because its impact will be a reminder to everyone that was and is being affected.

The followinf sections should and will be bent and revised according to circumstantial needs, political and economic realities, mass philosophy, etc. But as for the end of the fifth month in the year 2004, the following ARE the realities of the Movement and are thus being addressed:

I. POLITICAL and ECONOMIC IDEOLOGY

At this time, the Movement identifies with the democratic, humanitarian socialist and communist ideologies because they identify with progress.

2004 is the year of capital, and 2004 is the year of subjugation. Those that do not see this have subconsciously blocked out every piece of evidence that has pointed to the superiority of socialism within the context of our current existence. Today, there are individuals that do not understand what it means to be beautiful, to be helpful and cooperative, nurturing and supportive; they do not see any benefit in equality, in collective progress and see no strength in multi-cultural unity. They have no relation to our Movement, cannot be part of the Movement and nor would they wish to identify with such a cause.

We, however, are rational and objective. When socialism takes hold of the global economy, the Movement's ideology must continue to shift (if the circumstances require it to!) forward, PROGRESSIVELY. To understand what "progressive" means in order to do away with pretenses and misconceptions, so it can be applicable and realistic in the future, these are its elements according to the current realities of the Movement:

1. It is for the benefit of all
2. It takes into consideration individuality and caters to uniqueness as much as it is possible
3. It promotes equality, happiness and personal fulfillment for all
4. It is RATIONAL, not figured solely by emotional reactions; it must be discussed rationally, peacefully and to the benefit of all involved
5. It is achieved WITHOUT unreasonable sacrifices in our people's freedoms

Thus, "progress" must include all of the aforementioned qualities.

II. STANCE on RELIGION and MORALITY

There is no such thing as "Christian morality," "Islamic law," etc. Since the Movement incorporates every progressive Individual into its goals, any rational being will see the millions of beliefs in the world cannot all be catered to without causing theological contradictions (and such deviance is not allowed according to most theology) and thus cannot dictate policy, trends, etc. because huge chunks of the population would be un-democratically left out.

We are, naturally, going to officially label ourselves as agnostics solely for the purpose of not offending any one person. This does not mean, however, that at any one point, our Movement cannot be composed of mostly Christians or mostly Buddhists, etc. The author of the Lysander Manifesto is himself a spiritual deist, but makes no attempt to convert anybody; such matters will be kept private and both criticism and encouragement of any religions will not be tolerated, as there is no need for it!

MORALITY is dictated by the following statement:

"Acting 'morally' means to act in mutual benefit, and to express yourself in whatever way desired, do whatever is wished, as long as it does not infringe on anyone's livelihood."

Laws will be based on the aforementioned statement.

The Movement wholly and strongly encourages, however, each Individual to act out of their own (un-harmful) desires, and refuses to allow the restrictions of society and religion to allow boundaries to be placed on actions if it is against the Individual's will.

Thus, if you are passionate and lustful, we encourage you to stop following Christianity unless you want to be considered and condemned a hypocrite. Instead, it would benefit you most to embrace your lust and act on it as long as you are harming no one else. In this way, enjoyment of life is maximized and you are not slaving away for something you do not truly believe in.

Think for yourself and follow your own wishes.

III. The PURPOSE of LAWS

Laws exist to serve one purpose only: to protect the welfare of each Individual in a world that is sick and chaotic. However, the Movement understands that the world has two possible futures:

1. A catastrophic end will wipe us out;
2. Through cooperation, love and unity, the world's sicknesses will be destroyed and the necessity of laws and their enforcement will be diminished, and will not longer be a matter because there will be no incentive to deviate from universal morality (see the aforementioned definition of morality).

We hope to achieve the latter.

IV. RESTRICTIONS and SOCIETY

In 2004, there is a sick trend in society to impose its unwritten "codes of conduct" -- what to say, what to do, etc. which, if broken, would not negatively affect the world. However, out of arrogance, any individual that behaves "differently" is "punished" by being "exiled" or, at the least, "punished" by a biting word or a deadly and sarcastic remark, etc.

We seek to end this.

The Movement hopes to abolish the aforementioned arrogance and then seek to help everyone that is afraid of being an Individual; to reverse the hypnosis of those scared to express themselves. We also seek to abolish religious restraints placed on anyone that does not want them and is afraid to remove them when it reality, they desire this.

V. LOVE

The final section is titled with audacity and describes every fundamental aspect of the Movement in one powerful word, so succint and intentionally so beautifully complicated.

Love is the cornerstone of the Movement, as every action, every policy and every word uttered is in the name of this metaphysical, contradictory, yet so boldly human, component of life.

Love could mean the Revolution, love could mean living life to your personal and Individual potential, or love could simply mean room for two under the covers, or peace, or tranquility within yourself. Whatever the case may be, the beauty of this concept is its incredible flexibility and unique meaning that varies from person to person.

We work in the name of love, we hope to unlock its benefits so each Individual can reap the rewards for themselves and share them with the rest. Love makes everyone a king in his own right and adds a dimension to life more fulfilling than anything else imaginable. Love is in itself a revolution...it has been a revolutionary idea from its first seconds of existence, and continues to be so today, and forever.

The aforementioned sections merely aid the fulfillment of this final and permanent goal.

This part of the Movement is not subject to change, nor anyone would want to abolish it. Love means total liberation, and love is our Lysander -- the Movement will revolve around this idea forever.

The Movement cannot be labeled and shifts ideology and tactics with each passing day in order to adhere to the realities of changing circumstances. It is very elastic

I like that because that what I am like.
We all are never the same people every day
and we all are constanly changing.
