If we're being really pedantic here (as we obviously are) it is not CELLO but is in fact the Violoncello..and yes it is spelled correctly....it is not VIOLIN-cello, but is indeed Violoncello

Actually I built my theremin from scratch, it's easy if you have the parts - it makes great 50's science fiction noises and it looks like your conducting an orchestra, of course you must be properly dressed to coax sound from the little devil..

An instrument is not boring, only your mode of playing. I bet if you heard or were able to play some inspiring tunes on the bass it would change your oppinion.....this attitude is very common among straight guitarists, as they become very stuck in the ruts of chord boxes, scale boxes and vamps etc.....step outside the box (literally and metaphorically) and you'll be amazed at what you can do on your instrument....

Consider this in a logical sense also....all instruments are capable of producing exactly the same notes (disregarding range)....therefore what you can play on one instrument you can play on any other (disregarding chords), and it is therefore the timbe (tone) of the instrument that counts as its overiding factor of musicality....

If you wanna go crazy with this whole tab thing, then there&#39;s a program called "Guitar Pro" (buy/steal it from somewhere on the internet) which uses sort of midi files (which you can download from my www.mysongbook.com (http://www.mysongbook.com)).

It allows you to listen to the song in midi format/view it in tab and sheet music/separate out each instrument/view the sheet music etc. etc.
