Supposing Christianity was not spread by genocide, imperialism violence and force.....how much of the world do you think would be chrisitian today?

Thats right, christianity didnt just appear over here....it stomped right in!

Yeah sure it did ... Europe became Christian because missionaries from Italy, Greece and other south Europian countries went out to convert people. Everywhere Christianity has tried to be brought in by force it has failed because this isnt what christianity teaches.

Everywhere Christianity has tried to be brought in by force it has failed, because this isn't what Christianity teaches.

On the contrary, Christianity has been a brilliant success through the use of force...both in Latin America and in Africa. If it has not done as well in Asia (with the exception of the Philippines), it is most likely because sufficient force was unavailable.

The Christian section of the "Bible" does not teach "conversion by force"...because the authors had no force at hand. After 300CE, when Christianity became the state religion of the Roman Empire, the "church fathers" had no problem justifying forced conversions at all...nor has that changed in the subsequent 17 centuries. Wherever Christians are in a position to make their doctrines "law", they do so with enthusiasm.

Way back in 1914, when the "war on drugs" began, who do you think were its biggest supporters? Who do you think are its biggest supporters now?

Guess.

Christianity is an organised religion that Marx preached against, and in my opinion, has no place in a Marxist society unless practiced privately.

Jesus used hash (kane-boshem or however you type it) to cure people and drank wine (turned water into wine). No worries there ;)

I doubt by the time there is communism most people will even need it.

unless practiced privately

That is what most people forget. Religion isn't an enemy. Organized religion is. Those who believe that the virgin Mary gave birth to the son of God are not the problem. Those who tell you to believe in the Virgin Mary (and all that jazz) or else are the enemy.

Religion should be placed in the same catagory as sexual prefrences.

Organized religion is religion for fucks sake, some people really worry me.

Maybe you mean belief in God or something.

Religion should be replaced by art, or a more healthy emphasis on culture, something productive.

It "should" be…but it’s not quite as unproblematic as that; although I do wish it were.

And eventually it will, cease to be; sooner relative to latter, I hope and anticipate.

However, in a communist society ceremonies and active practice "in the streets" "should" and hopefully will not, for which I have credence; be endured and witnessed at all, regardless of the the degree of magnitude , however small or large, emphasised on spirituality.

No, not just the belief of God. There is more to it than that

Generalizing religon to simply "Belief in God" is silly. A Jew and a Muslim both believe in a God but there are major differences between the two.

That is like saying Greens are just like Commies since they are both left wing in the political spectrum.

I am saying that organised religion is wrong because it has always been used to get the people to follow the priest's ideas on politics. It is just another way of controlling the masses.

In northern europe they used the gun (or well, swords and axes actually, but you get the idea). Back in the days you see, the people had whatever religion their ruler had. So when the king converted, you better convert too...
