Been out of touch.
Still, there is a nugget of gold.
Fucking appalling that I never heard of the guy. I do read some of the mainstream broadsheets in the YUK, but it just shows how ill-informed I am.

However, in my view I would still put a sticky up about the death penalty in the United States.
It is the worst fucking human rights outrage in the world!

Kill the Death Penalty!
The thing is that there is no comparison between the human rights abuse of the Death Penalty in the United States and the human rights abuse else where.
It is the leading nation in the world, and if you want to stop the Death Penalty on a global basis, you have to start with the United States, which has the greatest influence of any nation in the world.
It is fucking appalling that on an issue that even would united some of the BORGS against one extremely evil part of global "civilisation" that the community is not showing that it is not just a talking shop.
In a sense capital punishment is the weakest link in the BORG ethos, because it is inherently so obviously unethical. It is so obviously against the spirit of Jesus Christ and the bastards who support it would indeed have crucified Christ as a traitor for his attitude towards the Samaritans and a few things besides.
You see, Mumia is relatively unimportant as he would accept. The greater importance is all those people around the world on Death Row.
The problem with Amnesty International is that it sees some kind of equality in murder and torture, and there is none. The least mitigation is in the United States. The least. There can be no authority without responsibility, and if you take on the role of world superpower, your civilisation is the benchmark for the rest of the world, and this is what the United States thinks of itself. The greatest nation on Earth!
It cannot have it both ways and it has to be rammed down its throat, that the Death Penalty existing in the United States is a fucking outrage against humanity, and people in the Community who are members of gutless Amnesty International have a moral obligation to let them know that they are complicit in their lack of prioritisation.
I mean, you have stars like Bono of U2 who support Amnesty. Many other influential people do too. The rock world showed what it could day with Band Aid, and Mandela Day.
If they had a Kill the Death Penalty concert, albumn and single with various artists contributing for free, they could make a real fucking difference. There is a complete fucking travesty that Amnesty is letting the bastards get away with murder.
We should have a sticky under the title of Kill the Death Penalty and invite everyone in the Community and as Guests to add support in the Topic, as well as add to the debate within the thread.
Lives are at stake all around the world, and the key to an international agreement is the United States of America.
I will send a message to Malte and hope you will do the same. You see when Rosa asks helplessly "what can we do", we can at least do one thing, and that is to make anyone who contacts the Community aware that on some issues we are completely united, and that we have our priorities right even if they do not.
How does that help? Well, it is at least a small start in raising consciousness, about the worst human rights abuse on the planet.
It is the worst because the US does not has the same mitigation as less developed countries. It is always going to be the worst, until the US gets rid of the Death Penalty.
Very glad to hear about Mumia. Hope the "re-sentancing" does not leave him, wishing he was dead.
May the Force with U!

We hereby dec;are that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness
Unalienable right to life, it's pretty fucking clear that the death penalty is unconstitutional. The Americans here should spread the word about this.
Sorry if i misquoted the constituation

Yep, honest intellectual, a bit like the "pursuit of happiness" that one!
I'll tell the jokes!
Yeah, well that "liberty" one has them rolling down the aisles now to mention it.
I mean there bound to be other people in the United States on Death Row, who ought not to be there for whatever reasons, and if there last words are "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, there would be more than a hint of irony!

Hey,
about Mumia, does anyone ever listen to his monthly radio shows? It's not in his voice because pennsylvania prison's banned him from actually speaking, but it's his speeches. I was just wondering where I could find it.
About the death penalty, I just watched the most upsetting documentary I have ever seen. It came on HBO, it was "America Undercover, Sundays" and it was about a woman named Wanda Jean Allen. She was put on death row for killing her girlfriend, but she had an unfair trial. First off all, she was mildly retarded. Also, her lawyer didn't even want to defend her and begged the court to relieve him, but they didn't. The jury never saw the doctor statements that she had a mental illness. To make things worse, during her clemency hearings the District Attorney swore she wasn't retarded because she graduated from high school, but when Wanda's council went to check her transcripts it showed that she was never even attended high school.
Unfair and injust. It was so sad to watch this documentary on her because all the while she was hopeful they would have taken her off of death row, even until the last 3 hours of her life. and then to watch her die. I just couldn't do it.
I can't see how a system can be so cruel and injust. What is wrong with mankind?!!!!

DesinDisaster,
Sounds horrific. Couldn't watch it myself, if it was on YUK TV.
It's all the more the reason for keeping this post top of this forum.
The only big surprise is that the bastards did not broadcast the State murder live on TV! I mean, U can bet the TV Corps would have paid mega-bucks for that "priviledge".
Get the red-necks celebrating that one!
Sounds like party night to those bastards.
