Democratic Korea sent a message to Cuba and also gave a similar message to Syria today.

Message of Solidarity to Cuban Foreign Minister
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a message of solidarity to Cuban Foreign Minister Pelipe Perez Roque as regards the new measure for sanctions applied by the Bush administration against Cuba. Extending full support and militant solidarity to the Cuban government and people in their struggle against the U.S. new measure, Paek Nam Sun in the message once again assured his Cuban counterpart that the Korean people would always stand by the Cuban people in their efforts to accomplish the common cause of socialism.

That's all they could do. They would do more if they could. Like if they could send billion of dollars of aid they would do it in a heartbeat. I believe that.

North Korea cant do that much, I mean they are already super poor, china should be suporting them, but I dont think China is really into that stuff anymore...

yeah, lets get things clear here. North Korea and China are cretainly not communist. How can countries that censor their press posibly believe in the needs of the people?
As our friend Ernesto said in Guerilla Warfare; "the best propaganda is the truth."
This has never been more true. :hammer:

Democratic Korea

Why don't you just say Korea? It is run by the government, not the people. In other words, not democratic.

When referring to North Korea, "Democratic Korea" is as big a oxymoron as Microsoft Works! :D

Democratic Korea is just short for Democratic People's Republic of Korea. They are just as democratic as any other nation. I am not even going to comment on most of you who seem clearly lost to Marxism-Leninism and the Juche idea.

I'm not completely against communist dictatorships, but to call N Korea the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is stupid.
They only news they get is of what Kim Jong Il is doing.
They didn't even get the news of that massive rail explosion.
If you ever visit you are accompanied by a minder to make sure that you don't ever tell anyone of all of the poverty in the country.
Nothing in Korea is done for the people.
Even the U$ is more democratic!

Ya. There was a BBC documentary or something on a while ago about North Korea. Appaerntly the people wake up every morning to an announcement on a tannoy system telling them they "Live wonderful lives" and things like that, when things couldn't really be further from the truth, in my opinion. I think this country is Communism gone wrong.

At least Cuba started out well.
Anyway, N. Korea was never Communist, Cuba was and, to a certain extent, still is.

Cuba and N Korea are not communist. They are socialist (eg. the government owns all). The process ought to go like this:

Capitalist (revolution)=> Socialist (evolution)=> Communist (where everything is owned by the people)

North korea is stuck in socialisme because their leader won't let go ( - evolution)

Cuba is still in socialisme because
a) Castro may be reluctant to let go
b) The US and other countries will not let Cuba get the "breathing space" to conduct an evolution.

The government may own everything but I'd argue that Korea is not socialist.
Nothing in that country is done for the people.
They are "national socialists," and I won't even bother to explain what that means!

they are trying at least, they where the same clothes(sometimes uniforms), live within the same class, learn the same ideology in publically controlled schools, they may be underfunded and a little bit backward in north korea, but at least they are trying :o ie. progressively communist! that is more than we can say for the rest of the industrialized world.

p.s. read between the lines, there is alot of negative anti-communist propoganda which undermines north korea, from europe, america, and south korea etc.

peace yall

Oh snap, is it gonna be WWIII. That would be crazy. I guess the stage is set for the final showdown between Socialism, and Imperialism.

Cuba also censors its press, it was one of the first things implemented after the revolution. The press is government run.

You do realize that no Communism can take place in the imperialist age, Lenin realized this and that is why an international revolution must take place. Democratic Korea is a strong-country that is defending other nations from possible US-invasions without pushing their ideologies onto that nation as terms of agreement. Democratic Korea is the van-guard for the Socialist world, much more so than the current Capitalist China, Vietnam and Laos. At least the DPRK is not selling out like the post-Stalin Soviet-bloc, post-Mao China and apparently most of you.

Damn right too... I'm yet to find a newspaper worth the time and effort it took to create, nor even to read. At least if it's 'centrally' run it's a source if information distribution rather than heresay and lies.

Or... just outlaw it completely ;)

Actually, Salvador, I have changed my mind; you are right.
It is the constant U$ pressure that has stopped Korea from becoming communist.
I still do think that Kim Jong Il should go, though, but It is the U$ that has imposed the poverty on the people.
You are right to point out this, and even if they are not communist, we should admire Korea.
