I heard something in the movie Red Heat about the Chinese having hoards of drug addicts executed after Mao's revolution. Is this true?

Drug addicts spend the sweat and blood of the peasants for some "upper-class" sensation, can't blame Mao for punishing them....

I doubt this very much, try and find a better source. Fidelbrand, get a fucking clue.

That is such an upper-class view!
People are addicted to drugs because evil money grabbing cappitalists get them hooked. That is why the U$ use drugs to make money.
Anyway, back to the point, Mao has a terrible human-rights record, so please stop idolising him. Anyone who does those sort of things can never claim to be a communist.

Or maybe, people use drugs because... they like them! What a concept! Yes, capitalists deliberatley get people hooked and contribute to the problem, but that is certainly not always the case. In BC, when I buy pot, the money tends to go to lower middle class families who grow pot to supliment their (unlivable) income. Excuse me for not feeling guilty.

I wasn't blaming Mao for anything. I made this thread after somebody said that I should not, "dehumanize," Cobain because he was a drug addict.
I'm just trying to find out whether it was true, and I would never use a movie as a
source unless it was a documentary.

This is complete nonsense, drugs being prohibited from use actually costs society more than were drugs manufactured by the governing entity. For example with heroin the prohibition and seizure of drugs drives costs up resulting in addicts turning to crime to fuel an addiction costing literally trillions of dollars not to mention the medical costs that impure black market drugs contribute to. State manufactured heroin would save billions if not trillions of dollars, it's well documented.

And throwing the useless motherfuckers in jail just like Americans do is the answer, right? Giving them clean needles and rehabilitation treatment is a waste of money, right?
I'm not sure if I can believe these allegations. How did he manage to loocate and arrest every drug user in China?

I suppose your right. No communist ever seems to have a clean record, but on the subject of drugs, yes they are mainly a rich persons toy, but you can't kill people for it. Killing, whatever the crime, is ALWAYS wrong.

In China the drugs is seen as different to that of today. The problem was with Opium, an any area afflicted by the addiction was devastated. The Red Army often tried to cure any particular area of its opium addiction by getting rid of the opium and trying to educated the populace on the problems that come with opium addiction.
I should imagine that some of the drug lords were executed, they used drugs to enslave and exploit people and become very wealthy.
Today, relatively few people take drugs compared to China at that time. In China during those times, entire villages became addicted to opium and thier rather ineffective village economy became dedicated to trade in opium.

I would say yes it is true, however the drug addicts would undoutably had to have been impirialist pigs foremost, and drug addicts secondly.
Some of the poorer drug addicts were probebly reformed and made into perfect red followers to the cultural revolution! ;)
peace yall

The the negative actions of the government are fairly consistent, they only become scandals when they are revealed to the masses.
