Well... I've seen "La mala educacion" (the bad education) at the cinema last sunday and I liked it very much. Any other Almodovar appreciators here?

I admire his work, Matador, All about my mother, Hable con ella, and I look forward to seeing this movie. Gael is also starring in the motorcycle diaries premiering at Cannes..

I've heard only good things about all his films but have only had the opportunity to watch "talk to her" or "habla con ella" its really good...

La mala educacion was very good, typical Almodovar.. The real suprise was Gael as a transvestite, very sexy I must say and wholly convincing.. The Film is juxtaposed between Franco's reign and subsequent death and the contrasting colours and themes reflect two very different Spains IMO... Almodovar is a maestro and he handles delicate issues sensitivley and not without humour, the film suceeds in attacking the catholic church but with a slight of hand and dignity, in a non-judgmental fashion.. All are sinners, all are victims.. No-one emerge's unscathed..

Yes you're right, Gael as a transvestite was absolutely fantastic and convincing. I have to say that I was disappointed when the film finished because I could have watched it for hours and hours! It's the only Almodovar film I have seen so far. I hope not the last.
