Surprise guerilla attacks as they trekked through the Vietnam jungle.
One American was wounded because he picked up a grenade the pin of which had been removed. <_<

There was a phenomenon called "fragging" whereby US soldiers would kill their officers, often with a fragmentation grenade. Several hundred Americans were killed in this manner, IIRC.

That's really interesting, I never would have thought that there was such a think in the U.S. Army. I wonder if anyone will try it in Iraq >.>

It already has. See http://www.infoshop.org/inews/stories.php?...3/03/25/8940162 (http://www.infoshop.org/inews/stories.php?story=03/03/25/8940162) See Harass the Brass (http://www.infoshop.org/myep/love3.html) for more on soldier resistence to war.

That story I knew about. I think it would be a stronger statement if it happened in Iraq.
But still, power to the Arab :D

Agent Orange was getting used quite frequently there.

I don't see how wanting to know who Americans died autmatically proves that someone cares about America. Maybe he's more curious about the methods that were used against them. I'd like to know the tactics used against the marines ^_^

Use of tunnels, they would pop out chuck out some greandes/shoot a bit then hop back down! Very Clever!
Use of the tunnels led to Napalm and AO being used against the rebels to destroy all flora and fauna so they had no where to hide and could be found easily!

What is interresting. 10,000 of the 58,000 US casualties in Vietnam, were non-hostile.

Did you know that more people commited suicide from what they had seen in Vietnam than actually died in Vietnam (just americans not Vietnamese and US casualties put together)

Yeah, I just read that today in ISR, although my source said it was the same amount. But it's kind of hard to be specific; where did you read that?
