A "Who is Che Guevara," sticky should be made, that way new people who never bothered to read a book, or at least an article, about the man won't have to make these new threads.
Speeches, a biography, writings, video clips and audio clips of him are on the main site. But people still make these posts asking who he was, and where they can find them. Did they even explore the main site before joining the forum?

Another book you should read is "The Motorcycle Diaries" by Che himself. Che wrote this book while traveling South America, and during reading the book you figure out what kind of great man he was, and what was his ideaology.

This is indeed an interesting query. I was in Amsterdam last year, and decided to get a tattoo. The man who drew my arm, a frenchman of Algerian origins, told me, in an apparent admiration, that he saw a man walk with a tattoo of the "Che pose", but instead of having Ernesto depicted on the drawing, Usamah bin Laden had been drawn instead....
I felt an odd rage in hearing this. How could a man with such passion, such humanity be compared to a murderous madman like Usamah....?
That was then, my reflection.... But now, I see more clearly.
Despite all the admiration I have for Che and his ideas and actions, I understand that for some, he was a terrorist.
But to most, he's a militant hero, and rightfully so. He was the man who torn off the hands of tyranny that was being held down to the people of Cuba by Fulgencio Batista and his support by Washington. Che Guevara was the man who brought about change for the destiny of South America. He wanted to bring the cultural identity of South America back into international consideration.
And, in the same light of thought, Usamah, despite his murderous actions, has some redeeming qualities to him. He essentially wants to bring awareness to the plight of the muslim people living under the grips of all these theocratic dictators very much supported by Washington for their sole benifit and to bring hope to Palestinians being abused by Israel and their leaders, like Yassir Arafat.
All in all, it's interesting to be aware that one can be considered a terrorist for some, and a militant for another, that basically it's all a question of subjectivity.
Now, if you really want to know about Ernesto Che Guevara, like my fellow mates here say, read his stuff, get a glimpse into his views... But I'll add, research the historical background to fully understand the significance of his admiration, be it on a political, cultural or ethical perspective.
Read on the socio-economic that brought about the cuban revolution, its aftermath and why the U.S. is stuburnly dictating their ways in the sothern hemisphere and not allowing the nation lead independant thoughts and helping their fellow states...
Don't just read one side of the story, read the whole story and get a feel of what's so important about Che Guevara.
Then, I hope, you'll get a better idea of why it is so important to keep his views and hopes alive today.
