You all probably already know this, but Coxsone Dodd has died.
I'm putting on my old 45's (I only own 4, so...) all day to honor him.

Wow. I did not know that. So are they shutting it down completely ? That sucks, I was planning on visiting there when I'm in Jamaica this summer.

Well, I was just talking from a figurative sense.
I'm sure it's still open, UR.

Poor old Coxsone.
Brentford Road, where Studio One was located, was renamed Studio One Boulevard around five days before Coxsone passed away.
It's very sad news, just a couple of days beforehand I was enjoying Horace Andy's music as he called out the name of Studio One, the place where so many foundation rhythms of reggae were first recorded.
Still, at least we can appreciate the legacy the man has left behind. So many artists helped out over the years, so many careers built and hours of music forever stockpiled on magnetic tape.
I look forward to collecting more of Mr. Clement Seymore "Sir Coxsone" Dodd's releases over the coming months and years.
I believe that Coxsone's daughters who have been running his shop in Brooklyn for a number of years will continue doing so, and his son will continue recording music on Studio One Boulevard.

how does his son's music sound, Cani?
all of the cheesy Bob Marley biographies I picked up made him sound like a really nice guy who invested a lot of time and patience into the three fledgling musicians.
