I think political security is an issue for political groups antagonistic to the State.

The US and Uk have been monitoring phone calls from all over Europe for ages.

Of course they check sites, especially these kind of sites, these guys are everywhere, and I can understand them, I mean they want to keep control, people like us are a threat to them.
