View Full Version : Fascistic Wave Over Europe?

Thought I'd post this as an alternative to the 'Socialistic Wave Over Europe' thread.

Looking around the UK and speaking to people in pubs there sure does seem to be a lot of fascist viewpoints being thrown around at the moment. Everyone seems to have adopted this tabloid induced hysterical fear of assylum seekers and imigrants. And looking at many other places in Europe like the Netherlands and Switzerland it seems this irrational racist fear is spreading.

Our tabloids here in the UK are printing the most ridiculous lies and inciting so much racial hatred that I feel ashamed to be from this country. If you were to believe this crap you'd think assylum seekers feed exclusively on the queens swans, people in Eastern Europe sit around thinking 'oh, if only I could go to England and sit around claiming benefits'. You'd think when an assylum seeker arrives here they get given a five thousand pound check for a new car and be kitted out with a new wardrobe in their new luxury apartment. I mean for god sake! What the hell is going on? If it wern't for the fact that people actually believe this crap it would be hillarious.

And I thought our imigration policy was racist here in the UK but looking at the netherlands, their's is pure bloody evil! http://www.socialistparty.org.uk/2004/336/...html?id=pp9.htm (http://www.socialistparty.org.uk/2004/336/index.html?id=pp9.htm) and look at the new fascist leader of Switzerland.

As much as I would love to believe that socialism is sweeping through Europe I'm afraid I think It could be the reverse. I just hope I'm proven wrong and New Labour is replaced by 'Respect' ( http://respectcoalition.org/ ) then Berlusconi in Italy and all the rest of the Euro-nazis leaders follow suit.

In periods of social unrest we always see polarisations. Some people move right and some left. In Europe today my oppinion is that people are clearly moving to the left.
Regarding RESPECT I think you are one of the only ones who have any hopes in it. Their front guy is the rather obscure Galloway and they have abandoned socialist policies. Also their policies seem rather oppotunistic in my oppinion.

In Norway people are moving both directions. We have the fascist/right-wing party FRP which are getting more votes than ever, meanwhile the (not very-)socialist party called SV, is also more popular than ever before.

I was also pro-RESPECT but i think they may not be the solution. Who should get the left-wing vote in June's Euro and local elections?

Well they are doing cut downs in almost all sectors so yes they are rightwing.
Remeber that the only ones using the american definition of "left/right" is americans and not the rest of the world.
