Fucking laughable! The problem that many people face, especially in the area I am working is sustainable food development. They have none. This makes it impossible to live postivily. Hand outs is just not good enough, and these fuckers no it. They just need to do something for a PR stunt, so they think giving a few million pounds and some bags of grain is enough to satisfy the public. Well it probably is, but it is doing absolutly jack shit to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS or allow people who have it live healthy. People need sustauinable development.
Another good thing, god just writing this makes me fume with anger, is for these oh so rightous and benevolant governments to pressure the US to stamp out this patent hording that the US pharmacutical companies are doing. AVR treatment is needed by millions of people, yet these companies refuse to allow the countries tod evelop their own cheap version of the drugs needed, opting to sell them at vast, unaffordable prices to countries whos economies are near imploding.
Bono was at the Liberal convention and has met with Martin on numerous occasions.
Bully for him. The word LIBERAL and the word PROGRESSION are not the same. You can by all means consider yourself a Liberal, but what we need is progression. People in the third world do not need handouts. They need their own jobs, there own land, the ability to make there own food. They just want to live for themselves and be able to provide basic things to their families. People in these countries don't even have shoes, how can someone who has HIV/AIDS be healthy for any lenght of time if they dont have any shoes. And there are no roads here, there are no vaccines for children, there are barely any fucking doctors.
Giving a few million pounds or singing some song for AIDS is not going to solve the problem. Money is needed not only to find a vaccine, but to provide sustainable development for people so they can live postivily and healthy with the virus. Like I said, bags of grain are not going to do this. These governments, these fucking governments...oh my god...who refuses to wipe out the debt are now going to give hand outs!!! They dont want hand outs...they want to be free from monetary obligations to hugre capitalist nations so they can PROVIDE for themselves!!! What are these fucking governments doing about that...What is Bono doing about that...FUCK ALL!

Singing a few songs about how terrible peoples lives are in the third world just dosnt cut the fucking mustard. What would be really fucking cool was if he donated all his fucking wealth to developing clean running water and safe, protective housing for people. It costs between $1 and $5 to make a sustainable water well. He could make 200 million water wells and allow these people who are affected with HIV have a drink of fucking water every know and then...

Who cares? What matters is creating sustainable development..Teaching people so they can read and write and learn what HIV/AIDS actually is...because 9 out of 10 people in Africa havent got a fucking clue...Many Mozambicans I have spoken with believe that the moon and sun live in boxes...They are afraid of the color of my skin...OUR HOUSE KEEPER DOSNT KNOW HOW OLD SHE IS!!! How in gods name are they supposed to understand what HIV/AIDS is...?

If we are going to fight AIDS we have to provide healthy standards of living and sustainable forms of subsistance. We need to educate people about what AIDS is, we need money for this, we need dedicated people...WE DO NOT NEED SONGS, BAGS OF GRAIN and some charity pounds given out in a vain publicity stunt by a government who refuses to write of a debt...a debt which takes up huge resources from the economies of these countries!
