A lot of hardcore communists I know, has said that Marx's dialectic (theory?) will, or does not work in reality. What is it all about, and why do you believe that it is not working?

Marx inherited the dialetic from Hegel. He changed it to emphaise mans struggle with Materialism though. Through the thesis and the antithesis you get a synthesis Apparently.

Thesis: Established. Antithesis: Opposition to the Established. The Synthesis is formed when the two opposities conflict, thereby forming a conglomerate. For example, in mythology, when two opposites (in Joyce, Shem and Shaun) come together to form One thing. In Marx, the established under capitalism is the capitalist class. The thesis is therefore the capitalist class. The antithesis is the proletariat, and these two will clash and produce a synthesis, aka socialist society.
The theory of the dialectic says that all things produce the opposite of themselves which wiill eventually destroy it.
For example, Christ, a revolt, an antithesis, formed Christian thought. From this revolution was formed a synthesis in Roman society of Christian Rome. This synthesis immediately formed a corruption of Christian thought, bending it and corrupting it to the state's purposes. This Christian establishement will eventually breed the foes out of itself which will destroy the established fact of God. For example, atheists. Just as Lucifer fell because of the opposition to the establishment.
Read some stuff, better explanations are everywhere.
i like to use dialectics logic in my life because i think it helps me a lot in reality, although maybe what they meant , when they said that dialectics doesnt work in reality means that you cannot rely only on dialectics. which is why i also use analytic logic- which most people use
dialectics could be said like:
A + not A = will equal A
where A is something like a thesis
but if you replace A with a number like
2 + not 2 = will equal 2
it doesnt agree with Math Laws :o because it is saying that "not 2" its "0" , because only when you add "0" to "2" , the answer will be "2"
so you could say A = ........?
i recommend you to read books by Hegel , to understand Dialectical Thinking

I would most certainly not advocate for someone to read Hegel if they’re just starting out there study of dialectics…for Hegel’s work is incredibly unyielding.
Keep in mind thought, that Hegel and Marx’s dialectics are not precisely the equivalent…one with a idealistic stance and the other with a materialist

If you go to the che-lives dictionary, under dialectics there are links to really basic stuff, including 'Dialectics for Kids.' There is also more advanced stuff once you feel comfortable with it.
Do Not Read Hegel, your brain will explode and you will die!
