I just got back from this pure shit movie, it was so bad it was hilarious. Just wait till you see thier version of Mr Hyde its almost as bad as the one in LXG, no plot whatsoever you think with that budget they would spend some of it on a story. This movie tries too hard to impress, what we get are just funny crappy action sequences and exploding bats in between the horrible story . I cant believe they are making a sequel to this.

I went to see the movie yesterday. I agree, it was so stupid to the point of being hilarious. The special effects were so obvious especially the large werewolf and yes, Mr. Hyde. I had the idea that maybe, they modeled the character of Mr. Hyde to a local legendary monster in my country, called a "Kapre" who is tall and big, smokes tobacco and lives in tall trees. If it weren't for Hugh Jackman who never fails to make me hypersalivate, I would have gone out of the theater and got my money back.

It sucked ? Man, the previews looked so cool. Especially the part where he shoots the vampire with a crossbow.

Anyway, I saw Envy last night. It was O.K. As always, Jack Black was funny, Stiller was mediocore and Christopher Walken was amazing.

What an odd "monster". A tall guy who smoke cigs and hangs out in tree forts ? What country is this ?

Well, i like movies which are so bad that they are funny. The worst movies are the ones which arent even that, just plain shite.

Try watching Godfather 3 late at night. You'll laugh yourself blue... And I think I like this Kapre fellow. Lives in trees you say?

Yes, it does live on trees, but it should be a tall bushy tree. And like most monsters, it only appears at night.

Uraban Rubble, my country really has the strangest monsters. But most of them appear at daytime and hold public offices.

!Reality Check!

Van Helsing is a typical summer movie release. All summer flicks are testosterone-heavy-tits-and-sand epics (The upcoming Troy is a good example). To expect more than that is just plain imposing.

che's long lost daughter,

You're a Filipino right? Your country is seriously fucked up when it comes to monsters. :P I used to work with some Filipinos, they told me about some of the horror stories. Isn't there one about some weird legless woman that floats around?

Yes, I am Filipino. You are right, there is really that sort of monster here. It's called a manananggal. It's not just legless but it's part of the body from the waist down is missing. And yes, it flies at night because it grows bat wings and always has the worst hair day. For you to be able to kill it, you must put bags of salt on the part of its body that is left in the ground while it flies at night feeding on human blood.

Mentalbunny, it's ok, you can use it as your sig.

Just saw Troy.

However the original Troy and Achilles story is one my favourite ones, it really sucked in Troy. There is little story, hardly any. It has some cool action scenes tough, not that fantastic. It's more sex and slamming with the sword, then something new or worth the effort to watch it. The dialogue, has to suck the most of all the movie aspects. Not worth the cinema ticket.

LXG was truly god-awful. Even Sean Connery was bad, and personally I don't think he ever lets himself sink as low as he did in that horrific movie. Van Helsing certainly isn't original, but hopefully it learned from the mistakes of LXG.

Hey, you stuck-up highbrow culture vultures, I enjoyed Van Helsing...

Good action scenes, a predictable but fun plot, and B-Movie horror flick monsters thrown in for good measure. It's all good.

It was also interesting to note that the hero didn't get laid but his sidekick did. You might have noticed if your noses weren't so stuck up in the air.

yeah, I saw Van Helssing a little while ago, I knew it was going to be bad when they used the Van Hellsing name on an action hero instead of the Bram Stoker character

anyone notice how in the movie the stroke of midnight lasted like half an hour?

LEAGUE is allright. I mean connery is getting old. like two hundred. but the movie is fine. have to watch two, maybe three times to enjoy it. watch again. again and again. and then tell me you don't like it.

Van Helsing was abismal!!! No excuse for that ill thought out pointless piece of dogs droppings, it had strange plot twists that made no sense and added in pointless special effects, from the maker of the Mummy i was really dissapointed!!

Troy on the other hand was great and I loved it, probs the best action film this summer although I am waiting to see Day After Tomorow and Harry Potter before I decide!

I haven't seen "The Day After Tomorrow" and I have no plans on seeing it. I am sure it's all about how America saves the world again.
