100 years ago left wingers such as Glasdone and Jefferson did their very best to champion free trade and globalisation for the benefdit of everyone.

Nowadays it is rejected by todays left wing parties and abused by Conservatives. The biggest problem with globalisation is the proctetionism in America and Europe (subsidies and tariffs) which prevents third world countries from fairly competing.

Todays liberals like me should be pushing for the removal of trade barriers and the end of protectionism. True free trade and globalisation means bringing the world together and creating a fair world where everyone can benefit.

I actually agree with this sentiment and I've said it numerous times. Globalization is simply a tool to create an international working class. Does it make a lot of undeserving rich people richer? Sure. But so did the Industrial Revolution. Let them proceed with their gloabalization. They are creating the tool of their own destruction.

Actually, none of today's left are against golabalization except for the idiotic primitivists.

Those guys are against industrialization too, so they can be ignored.

What we are against, is corporate globalization. Globalization is just global unity. Even the internet is a result of globalization. We aren't against that, we're against corporate domination of it and the expansion of the democratic deficit. Decisions are being taken from the not-so-democratic governments of the world and being given to the even less democratic boardrooms of the corporations.

That pretty much ensures the end of this sham called "capitalist democracy"

Ive never met any one who is against industrialization. Really how can anyone want to go back to the way it was before industrialization.
