One sufferer of such abuse has said that he preferred Saddam's torture to the American humiliation. He said that Saddam's men beat him, but the Americans try to take away his manhood and make him feel like a woman.

The abuse was actually isolated to a prison sector that was under the influence of the CIA, the Boston Globe reported.

Maybe he wants to say hi to his mother now. He's going to have a heck of a time explaining this to his parents...

those are extremely vile, aren't they? so much for the american way. at least these are piercing the illusions of some americans. those soldiers look like such smug, horrible assholes. i'd love to meet them in a back alley sometime and have my way with them.

The more I look at these photos the more I think this is a direct act of subjecation. Not just the abuse but the release of the photos and sending them around the world only further humilates Iraqi citizens.

I've tried to avoid looking directly at the photos as I feel they further dehumanize the people involved.

terrible pictures. unfortunately i'm not surprised that the soldiers were found torturing the prisoners, it's been going on for a while and has happened alot in the first Gulf (trademark) war. (Gulf = gasoline/oil company). That England girl holding the leash of the naked POW is enfuriating. Thank god there's some global outrage. little too late...

The CIA told the prison guards to create favourable physical and mental conditions for interrogation. An isolated case indeed.

The prisoner in the picture died during interrogation...according to sworn testimony from MPs (http://fairuse.1accesshost.com/news1/lat-testimony.html), he had severe head wounds when the CIA brought him in. That may be self-serving blame-shifting, of course. But anyway, somebody beat him to death.

It's just so fucking great to see the American Colonial Troops at work "helping" the Iraqi people. Someone should dismantle the US armed forces in my opinion. They are simply too numerous (2,116,002 in a 2003 estimate) and are everywhere (South Korea, Germany, Okinawa, Guantanamo Bay...)!! Okay, probably not as numerous as China (10,973,761) and India (11,035,174) but at least they keep their troops in their own territory. Who made the US the world police!?

This is a joke : bush announced that the geneva conventions do not apply to guantanamo bay prisoners ........ because there are no pictures from there.
