why do we hear so much about the natzi holocaust but hardly ever hear about the Armenian Genocide?

Also Turkey was an excellent ally for the western power during the cold war, and is so today.

When France recognised the genocide,turkey cut billions worth of arms deals for France, this is another reason we do not see recognition

The Armenian genocide happened at ruffly the same time as WW2, and the allies did nothing!
But the allies used the genocide against the Jewish people as propaganda,-
just an example of the Imperialist nation's bull shit.......

Actually, it happened during world war one. I think the fact that Turkey was an ally for the U.S. makes it understandable that the genocide has not been as big of a deal as the holocaust, but also (I really do not mean to sound anti-semetic) but I think the Jews have more power and a bigger say in today's soceity than the armenians, so there are more books, movies, etc about the holocaust then the armenian genocide. Turkey has also been doing a pretty decent job of trying to cover it up as well. Coming from a Turkish family, everytime I ever brought this subject up, both my parents deny it ever happened and say something along the lines of "The government didn't do that, the people just started killing eachother", which is what I think is a reflection of what they were taught all their lives.

Im armenian, so i get the same shit from the armenian community about the genocide, distorted facts etc.

But i do beleive it was a systematic genocide committed by the Turking Ruling Class, the figures i would give as 1m-1.5m due to distortion from both sides.

Where are you living at the moment?

I'm completely with you on this one Kez. I think that the distorted facts are extremely unfortunate. But the thing is most Turks are extremely nationalistic, so they can never admit to any wrongdoing.

I live in Florida, I come from a family of Turkish immigrants who pretty much fit the mold I've just mentioned.
