Does anyone have an opinion on Carol Gilligan and her ethics of care vs. ethics of justice?
Basically, she considered herself a feminist, but believed that men and women are fundamentally different. She believed that men are more concerned with logic, rights, and justice, while women are more concerned with relationships and caring about people. She called the male value ethics the ethics of justice and the female ones the ethics of care. She thought that philosophy was biased towards male thinking and that both systems are neccessary.
Frankly, I think she's full of shit, but I'd like to know what somebody else thinks.
