I'm probably going to see the original Dawn of the Dead this week. Along with this other old horror zombie movie, i think it's called Day of the Dead.

There is already a forum for favourite movies before 1969, there was no reason to post that in here.

Two very famous seventies movies are Jaws and The Exorcist, both of which I find to be overated, not bad but overated. Alien is another good one, it's the oldest movie I've seen that had a fairly realistic looking non-human creature in it. The French Connection is another very interesting film that one the 1971 best Picture Award, though I thought A Clockwork Orange was more deserving. Norma Rae is a good movie about unionizing a small factory in Texas. The Godfatheer Part I and Part II are the best movie and sequel in the seventies respectively. In 1974 the first non-black and white film noir was made, Chinatown. Or atleast it's the only color film-noir I know of. Taxi Driver was released in 76 and Robert DeNiro lost the academy award for best actore to Stallone for Rocky. Rocky is another one of those overated movies, but it's still good. Perhaps the most famous movie ever, Star Wars is another classic seventies film. Two movies that dealt with Vietnam, Apocalypse now and The Deer Hunter were both made in the late seventies. Sort of a precursor to E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind was made in 1977. Dirty Harry was released in 71, it reminds me a lot of Bullitt a movie with Steve McQueen from 1968. Dog Day Afternoon was based on a true story about a famous bank robbery. All The President's Men the story about the watergate scandal reporters won best picture from the NY film critics.
I have a few more to list
The China Syndrome
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Halloween
The Omen
American Graffiti
Annie Hall

Timon of Athens
