hey ozzie comrades

I know that there is a bit of arguement over this issue on this board, but for those of you that want a ge-free future, get in touch with inghams chickens -they are the largest purchaser of ge material in the country, using heaps of ge-soy.

over 300,000 tonnes of ge soy is bought into oz each year used mainly for the poultry industry -the largest company in this industry being inghams.

despite the facts that a majority of australian consumers dont want to eat ge foods -61% (Taylor Nelson Sofres, April 2002), and that it will only cost inghams 1 cent per chicken to go ge-free, the company contiues to use the ge soy.

It doesn’t matter where GE crops end up in the food chain, they still pose the same environmental risks. By continuing to use GE feed, the poultry industry is part of an unnecessary and irreversible experiment with our food and the environment.

so get in touch with inghams and tell them you want them to change their policy and go ge-free:
