I have started to use the interner browser called Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org). It's a freely available open source browser, and it has completely blocked pop-ups on my computer.

Having had enough of spyware, adware and the popups they create, I just decided to use a backup disc on my pc. When I got back into windows the first thing I did was to download this browser, I havn't had a popup since.

Anyone who calls themself a communist or anarchist should use Free Software (http://www.gnu.org). Not only is it better (Mozilla (and variants (such as Firefox)), OpenOffice, Linux (many different distributions), The Gimp, Apache, Perl, Python, the entire GNU project, the list goes on), it is more the philosophy of the thing.

But on Mozilla (and Firefox) I use these browsers exclusively. And the reason is, they are so great.

Some reasons to use Mozilla (or Firefox),
The default install is designed to be as little as possible annoying. This means that pop-ups are blocked by default (and other good stuff).
It is very customisable. It lets you change how the browser works with javascript, cookies, pictures, fonts etc. All with little work.
The built in picture control lets you block pictures from known ad sites (such as doubleclick). It has tabs! Mozilla has a great HTML composer. It is multi-language and multi-platform (try that one IE, i.e. run on Linux). To quote the website "Built with your privacy and security in mind". Really why would you even look at anything else? It doesn't have the holes that IE has, it is standards compliant (unlike IE, the HTML4.01 standard has been out how long?? (hint more then 5 years). It is a smaller download then IE! It adds so much more.

Firefox is based on Mozilla, but instead of having the Browser, mail client, address book, composer, and IRC client, it is just the browser. For this reason it is even smaller the Mozilla and loads faster (and Mozilla loads fast). It also has all the other advantages related to the browser. Such as tabs, popup blocking etc.

And yet another thing, Mozilla based browsers can be extended even more, you want themes? You got 'em. And here is a list of projects that use XUL to add features to Mozilla. http://www.texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/ (My favourite is adblock, I don't see ads any more. 'Is great.)

And if you don't trust me, hear it from the horses mouth http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/why/

yeah, I've been using Mozilla for a while now, it's very fast

I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast, good browser

I haven't tried firebird yet, though one of my friends made a program that changes the firebird name every time the browser is opened, he used a list of animals and adjectives. So far the best has been space pig

"t doesn't have the holes that IE has"
yeah, around here we joke about IE standing for internet exploder or internet exploiter
