View Full Version : Oi! music

What does every one think about oi! music? It's almost always has white "heritage not hate" and/or workers rights lyrics...I know a few people who listen to it, but I think that it borders on being unlistenable.

I think it's ok.

Does anyone else, perhaps British or otherwise, realise how wrong Oi! fans use the term 'Oi', I've heard them say it as if it is a greeting in it's own right, eg. 'Oi', instead of say 'Oi mate how's it going?'. It bugs me. Just thought I'd share.

Ian the reason for that is a lack vocabulary

Dirty Commie

most people don't know what the term means at all.

Oi kids tend to use "Oi" when greeting other oi/punk kids in my experience, in the same way you'd quote a Poison the Well lyric while secretly checking out the tight ass of the guy's Levi 501s in the queue in front of you.

Nah seriously...round here "Oi oi!!" is a greeting.

I'm just guessing, but "oiga" is the rough equivalent of "listen to me" in Spanish.

Don't confuse Oi! with RAC. Oi! has nothing to do with "white heritage" and never has. Though I agree that there are many oi! groups with a resentable image and lyrics, its really not about the politics. Think of it as the Gangsta Rap of punk music.

I mean the oppposite end of the punk rock spectrum... bands like the casualties, blanks 77, oi! scouts, Pist, A Global Threat.

Kaan
2nd May 2004, 14:33
The Casualities, they're that band that keeps writing songs about how punk rock they are. Jeez Guys, like the 15 feet tall mohawks didn't give it away. Most Oi bands are nationalist pigs, but their music is pretty anthemic. Its hard to not accidently start chanting along. I was a pretty big dropkick murphy's fan a few years ago, but I got over it. As for the word OI, the kids here use it kinda like they use "thats cool",

"I'm Drunk!"
"OI OI!"

But to be fair, I live in South Florida, and everybody here is just at least a little bit retarded

Dirty Commie
2nd May 2004, 15:57
what part of florida? i'm in st. pete.

The casualties waste a lot of their talent on bad music...but their last cd, ON the Front Line is pretty good. Most of it has a bit of a political/anti-war/anti-corporate theme

Kaan

I hail from Ft. Lauderdale FL

I kinda gave up on the casualties after the first half of that "proud to be punk" song. Very, very redundant.

Dirty Commie

It's usualy bad punk rock. Some bands are okay, but most are too into "I'm a punk and that's all that matters" type shit.

Urban Rubble
3rd May 2004, 19:40
I think you have a distorted view of what Oi music really is. The Casualties are not an Oi band at all.

How you can like punk and not Oi is beyond me. Unless by punk you mean LagWagon and No Use For a Name, shit like that.

It's usualy bad punk rock. Some bands are okay, but most are too into "I'm a punk and that's all that matters" type shit.

Wrong. Dead fucking wrong. Most Oi bands do not give a shit about labels like that, most Oi bands sing about working class rights and social issues.

What does every one think about oi! music? It's almost always has white "heritage not hate" and/or workers rights lyrics...I know a few people who listen to it, but I think that it borders on being unlistenable.

You consider yourself a "commie" yet you think it's wrong for Oi bands to sing about workers rights ?

Working class rights are the very cornerstone of our ideology, and you have a problem with them preaching that shit ? What ?

If the guys don't like you, they might give you shit or even kick your ass but that's how you get INTO the music; the music is part of the life. If you're not ready for it, just stick to your NOFX and Dixie Chicks.

Blood For Blood are playing next week on LI, so are the Dead End Boys. I'm going to the Dead End Boys show first, then I'm going to the Blood For Blood show (later that day).

If you want good hardcore, listen to Fed Up!, Condition, Pledge of Resistance, shit like that. Fuck that new age emo hardcore bullshit.

Yes!!! A *****y thread about hardcore. Lemme get stuck in.

Oi's not my thing. Sounds like updated miners' songs if you ask me.

Fuck Norma Jean. They're lameass metal...they have fuck all to do with hardcore.

Jesus - hey welcome to hardcore (or not, judging by the bands you dig). You get kicked and punched and fucked up a lot. Consider the bruises part of the experience. I stumble out of shows covered in head to toe from bruises. A couple of months ago I think I got concussion from a failed stagedive (landing headfirst...ouch). Go to a show by an actual hardcore band and then see how you feel.

Hardcore's the greatest fucking thing in the world. It's my life. It's why I wake up, why I go to sleep. It's what I think about 99% of the time (when I'm not discussing girls or left wing politics). I love everything about it, from the constant threat of violence overflowing from the pit (although when fights break out, it is pretty fucked...the danger of it happening keeps my heart racing all the time), the aggression and passion you can see in the eyes of band and audience alike, the crazy fucking things kids do in the name of dancing (headwalks man...that's some fucked up shit. And why's that guy diving off a bunch of speakers??) and the fucking words. Straight up, direct but from the fucking heart.

Moreover, the hardcore scene is a testament to what we can create if given the right motivations. I took a few of my crust punk friends to a hardcore show and they were shocked by the atmosphere and energy and fucking commitment running through the room. They were used to punk shows full of poseurs checking their mohawks and boasting about their capacity for alcohol. Hardcore's based on a non-addiction lifestyle and thus keeps it real and fucking positive. This shit runs through my veins. People ask me "what is hardcore??" I can't fucking answer that question. Hardcore is everything that's good and bad about this world. hardcore is what I am and what I do. Hardcore is just beyond words. And I'm quite convinced it's what dragged me out of depression.

Joon - dude you crack me up. "New age emocore"??? hahahaha...I understand why the punks are hating on Evergreen Terrace. I think they're awesome but I guess they're too chuggy for you dudes. It's cool man, I dig it. Chill on the stereotypes though...you probably wanna check out how hardcore is before making so many assumptions, since you've pretty much exaggerated a lot of things, at least to me. You into a new Boston band called Cut the Shit at all?? They're playing London on 10 June and I'm fucking excited.

Yo I've been bored and fuckin pissed off all night and I'm so glad I found an opportunity to talk about hardcore obsessively. Thank you whoever started this thread. :D

ComradeJunichi

No; what's wrong with me saying the new-wave hardcore shit sucks? Don't preach about punk rock and all that dumb bullshit, if you know what it is you know what it is don't go trying to explain it.

Sectarianism? Haha.

Fuck Boston; if you lived here, you'd understand the bitterness between the NYC and Boston skins.

There's nothing obnoxious here, this is who I am; if anything, it's simply misunderstanding. I don't have an alternate identity on the internet, I come by to tell you what I gotta say and that's what I gotta say.

I don't give a fuck who hates who...I'm sure the Boston skins have an equally good reason to hate you people as well. Hardcore's based on unity, and although it isn't entirely successful, you don't get fights here in the UK. Unfortunately certain morons in certain areas of the US find it necessary to fight day in, day out which is ridiculous.

What are you fighting for?? Who gains from it?? It's ridiculous. Let's keep this shit to having a good time and respecting others. Threads like this remind me why I always um and ah whenever I'm asked whether hardcore is part of punk. Punk rock's now a dirty word - it's a safe haven for poseurs and many people within it seem determined to take it to bad places.

Sure punk can't be exactly described in words but it sure as fuck isn't about hating kids from any other scene. That's so fucking lame.

#1 In hardcore, we watch what we say on the internet and make sure we could back it up in real life. Try putting that to practise.

#2 An awesome band called Terror (who you'll hate cos they're from LA and formed after your birth) have a lyric called "the loudest are the first to go". Bear that in mind next time you throw your weight around.

#3 Your "*****y attitude" has fuck all to do with punk. Be yourself.

Boston skins got their ass beat when they came to NYC for the Agnostic Front show in December because they were talking shit about our home town. That's what went down.

You're part of the hardcore scene, you should know much better than me, fighting is apart of the life style. It's not about sitting around and smoking pot. If someone comes up to you talking shit, you stand up for yourself and knock him out. Sure, it might seem irrational, but so what? Who cares? It's a part of life and growing up, just as long as you don't kill the guy or put him in a coma. Don't take it overboard, but when a beating is deserved, you give it.

I dunno how it is in punk, but in hardcore, someone like you would be fucking hated. They'd consider you a poseur, a bandwagon-jumper and a shit-talker.

Wah wah...Boston vs NY...old news. How about you apply some left wing ideas and actually work together. Here in the UK you're assure a floor to sleep on and a welcome to any show in the country (assuming you haven't fucked over the scene that is), and that's half the beauty of hardcore. Kids don't go "shit...London kids, better kick their asses" and if they did, they're more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than giving it out.

And no people aren't gonna always like you. Why hit them?? I'm not gonna be told how life is by a 16 year old who thinks I'm an "emo *****" cos I didn't nuke someone who evilled me.

God this is fucking stupid.

You guys suck. Well, actually, you guys are sucking.

However, I do think you're being a bit ridiculous Joon. Perhaps it's a side effect of being so immersed in the NYHC scene. I find alot of this rivalry between scenes/cities to be fucking ridiculous. We don't have that kind of bullshit out here (and yes, we've got a hardcore scene). I couldn't imagine the guys from Seattle going down to Portland to fight about some arbitrary hardcore scene bullshit. The few times I have been up to New York have been cool, but there is so much bullshit in you guy's scene. So much sectarianism, in-fighting and pointless bullshit. Maybe it's a side effect of being such a distinguished, established scene, whatever it is, I'm suprised you're perpetuating it so wholeheartedly.

I'm not trying to call you out or anything, I just don't see why anyone would revel in the negative aspects of harcore. I don't consider the fighting and competition to be a positive.

The seperation is, in my opinion, a symptom of every musical movement being bought and coopted.

Every musical movement goes through that, Punk, Hardcore, whatever, is no exception.

Joon, I don't think you're a bad person, but you're buying into the assimilation the mainstream pulls on every counter-culture that poses any kind of threat to the established cookie-cutter and assembly-line culture.

Unity amongst the Left, even when you're out having fun, moshing and drinking at shows and bars.

Is this done now? Can we go on having normal discussions Joon?

You're right and wrong. I agree with you on some issues. About the scene being well known and the fighting (linked) can be controversial. For example, you're suggesting that our scene might have lots of fighting because it's a well established and well known scene. However, I our scene IS well known BECAUSE we are known to fight so much. Within the crews and shit, not much goes down but with hippies and other morons, bottles over the head. There's a reason it's called NYHC, we do it best.

If you think I'm being ridiculous, I think you know me better than that. I only bust balls of those who are little pussies who get all emotional over the internet, just because it's fun to watch. You know this because I used to be a dick to you until I realized you don't really give a shit.

You think that we get into fights with all the other scenes, it's not true. The only known problem I've heard of was between Boston and New York at the A-F show in December, other than that we're all cool with each other.

About Hardcore, I think the fighting a positive in the scene. It shows that we're tough and we put money where our mouthes are. When it comes down to it, every scene has the fighting and shit.

Yo, Rubble, when was the last time you came to NYC? I'd grab a few bottles sometime, oh, btw, I was kidding about the GASH so don't get hyped up ;)

Haha, just kidding. First of all, I don't have a problem with you...unless you're a hippie. I don't know what your name is, but don't preach me shit. You don't have to get all emo and tell me I'm a good person but I'm "being assimilated blah blah blah". If you've got sand in your vagina all the time, it won't be fun. I'm not preaching but just giving some observations from what I've been through.

By the way, I'm not a leftist anymore. I'm not politically affiliated, politics only leads to trouble.

I never preached anything, you're the fucker who's been preaching.

I have this feeling if I met you I'd end up giving you a broken bottle in the gut, but I'm also pretty sure you only do this over the net cause you know no one will ever get physical with you over it.

You're right, I tried to be civil at the end, and you threw it back in my face.

Don't give me this bullshit about doing me a favour cause this is how it is, I'm gonna tell you how it is.

I've got exposure to alot of different scenes in Montreal, friends with some Metal bands, a few Punk bands, and some street punks. I see where the shit goes down, and I go down with all sorts of counter-cultures.

I'm my own person, so I don't consider myself to be metalhead, punk, any of those things. I don't dress like a hippy, I'm not a hippy. I wear camouflage pants half the time, a red vest with anti-fascist and anti-capitalist pins and patches all over it.

So basically, no one gives me shit, I look like my own kind of person, but the most people say is to give me respect over an anti-bush pin, or an anarchy pin or something, or maybe my che-shirt. That's all.

I've been moshing and going to shows of local bands for a year now, and I know quite a few people. It's not like I'm new. I've only just started really getting into Punk music in general though.

The only shit that goes down in montreal, is when the riot cops come out to clear out the homeless kids, street punks that is, and the metalheads and punks in the bars and joints that line the street come out to beat the shit out of the cops... or at elast get arrested trying.

Either that, or when the biker gangs try to start shit with the street punks and the same happens. It's a very polarized city, and people sidelined by society stand together here.

One more point, I may not be an actual hippy, but there are tons of hippies here in montreal, and when the radical protesters duke it out with the cops, no one looks over their shoulders to see if the guy next to them is a hippy or a punk, or a skinhead or whatever. Lots of the hippies come out with the punks in these protests and get the tear gas and fight back together.

So just shove it.

Incidentally Joon, how fucking dare you call people "emo fags" when not so long ago you were swearing your undying love to your internet girlfriend in California??

To me, you sound like a Pot Noodle Punk, it'll only take you as long to leave punk rock as it took you to arrive. How long have you been into punk?? How quickly did you transform from a geeky, if nice high school kid with a penchant for Red Army memorabilia?? You sold out the left wing pretty quickly, why shouldn't you sell out punk too, and then what?? Maybe you'll wind up a "hippy fag" too. Just fuckin bear that in mind next time you throw your weight around kid.

Fighting is not positive. I "put my money where my mouth is". I don't "put my money where my fist is". Surely all a fight proves is one's build. How strong you are physically proves shit. It's all about how strong you are inside, mentally. You're right that life is a battle, but the battle is merely self-defence, against everything and everyone that would push you down. It doesn't need violence, it just needs defiant individuality. Taking pride in yourself is not bottling some guy over the head for being in the wrong "crew", it's saying, fuck everyone else and not letting bullshit get in the way of you doing what you want.

For instance, there was recently a shitstorm in the London scene after it was discovered that I dissed a local death metal band. I attacked their music, cos I thought it sucked. However, said band and friends were unable to take the criticism and started up a long line of threats. I was "a dead man walking", "on my way to getting beats" etc etc. I thought fuck it, and turned up to the next show. This cool cat group was hanging out, around 20 of them, while I walked past with my friend. Now if this group put their money where their mouths were, I'd be dead by now surely...but no, the sole extent of my "death" was some guy shouting "batty boy!!" (that's a homophobic slur, in case you haven't realised...usually shouted at goths or emo kids or anyone considered by the majority to look "weird"...kinda like the British "fag"). Sound familiar?? The next show, the guitarist of said band threw an empty fish and chip packet at me. Now he could have approached me, got in my face, told me I was well out of order. But no, he chose to stay at a distance and stay away from having to reason with me, trying to make me look stupid in front of anyone who could see, and his mates would probably laugh at it. It's fucking dumbshit gang mentality, no justifications or logic to it. Just plain thuggery.

I know. I know how you work. But dude, it's really easy to get offended when blatantly talk shit to you, like you're doing to CyM. But whatever, I'm not going to intervene, it is a bit entertaining. He's a big boy, he can take care of himself. Now, if this were real life, and you and some of your buddies were fucking with him beccause he was a hippy, that might make me mad, but shit, it's the internet, it's words on a screen. Say whatever you want, you ****s.

Well that's good. I get images of me walking in to a show up there "Hey guys, I'm from Seatt*smash*" "Oi, get im fellas, he's one of those hippie anarchist Seattle scene pussies arrrrggggg!!!!!!".

About Hardcore, I think the fighting a positive in the scene. It shows that we're tough and we put money where our mouthes are. When it comes down to it, every scene has the fighting and shit.

Well, I think it's very important to show you aren't going to take shit and to back your friends up. However, when you begin starting the fights that's when you have turned into a jock. By all means, defend yourself and defend your crew, but don't start shit with people with the intent of having a brawl. That kind of thing used to go on over here alot. I still get in fights all the time, at least once a month, but I hardly ever instigate it (unless it's Nazis), all I do is defend myself. If someone calls you a name, get in his face and demand an apology, and if he wants to throw fists do it, that's fine. What you don't do is walk through with your crew behind you, talking shit to people with the intent of provoking them. That is some jock bullshit.

Cute.

This was posted by a member of a hardcore band called Everybody Gets Hurt. If you ignore the factual innaccuracies about New York and hardcore in the 70s, it's a pretty good essay and reading your shit kinda reminded me of this.

"What's Up People
To clear up any questions about What Hardcore Music is and What is a Hardcore Music Scene . You see Hardcore Music started in New York in the late 70's when a bunch of different groups of people came together trying to do something different . The people were sick of Buble Gum music and Punk Rockers , Real Non-Racist Skinhead , Raggee Kids , Mod Kids "That's a group of kids who aren't around anymore , they were like goth kids , they called themselves Mod Skins , well all these groups got together and tried to do something different . The group of kids that went to the shows to support this new music started calling it New York Hardcore music and they invented the NYHC sysmbol we all use today .

The same kids went to show after show supporting this new music , and the kids started reconizing one another from show to show and became friends , the audience started calling themselves "The Hardcore Scene" this was more to be ment like the Hardcore Music Family . And you had all these different groups coming to shows dancing and creating something new and different .

Kids would support each other like family and it didn't matter what you looked like or how much money you had , many , many times kids who didn't have money for the shows asked the kids on line for the show if they had a dollar so they could get in , and tons of times , I gave what-ever I could to them to get them in , and you stood there and watched them go up and down the line till they had five bucks and could get into CBGBs in New York City .

That's when we started treating each other like family , reconizing each other from show to show and becoming friends with everyone that went to Hardcore shows cause , it was such a small scene you respected your bothers and sisters in the Scene , and we all started treating each other like a true family , saying what's up to everyone , most of the time , you never knew each others names , you just said what's up and shared a hand shake and a smile for your brothers and your sisters . The Hardcore Music Scene became a Family in New York City , this was from the late 70's to mid 80's in New York City .

In the mid 80's a club in New York City called CBGBs opened up their doors to Hardcore music and held Hardcore Music Shows every week-end rain or shine at 3:00pm in the afternoon the shows lasted till 8 or 9:00pm , then CBGBs would hold other shows in the club at night . Everyone going to shows started calling themselves the Hardcore Music Scene , and it was still all mixed up in New York and we had tons and tons of shows 3 or 4 a week and we had 1,500 to 3,500 kids dancing and singing along , stage diving and goin off at every show , sometimes there were people standing in the front of the club and there were people on top of them crawling to the stage , and people on top of those people and people on top of those people , three rows high at least , with people trying to make it to the stage to stage dive , it was so new and so fun , no music scene ever had anything like a stage dive or slam dancing the Hardcore Music Scene was in full effect .

In 1990 , the Scene at CBGBs , kept coming up with stupid Rules for Hardcore and Hardcore Music was off track from what it was originally , CBGBs kids started this thing where if you had long hair and you couldn't wear Doc Martin Boots , any Metal-Head kid who went to a show with long hair and DMs would get Rat Packed , that means jumped by about 50 to 100 kids and they stole his boots . Another rule was , you can't kick in the Pit , these kids at CBGBs used to say , "What are you a balarina , this means girl dancer , kicking in the Pit " Anyone who tried to kick in the Pit would be rat packed immedetily . There were more rules and if you didn't follow them you were getting jumped 100 % for sure . The CBGBs kids used to call you a "New Jack" this was way before the movie New Jack City , "New jack" ment you were new in the Scene there-fore you were a poser 100% Fake and you'd get shunned by the Scene and they'd do anything they could to make sure you never came to another show again .

In 1990 the Scene was huge in NYC but like I said these Assholes kept coming up with all these Bullshit rules , I call it "bullshit mentality" , bullshit thinking . The Scene became getting rougher and rougher , everyone being jumped at shows all the time , there was more then 5 to 10 fights at every show , and the CBGBs kids started swininging Hammers and Chains in the Pit , poeple were getting stabbed and killed at shows , every show , so in 1990 , all the clubs in NYC stopped hosting Hardcore shows and the Scene died in NY , CBGBs even closed their doors to us . I was in a Hardcore band then and we couldn't get any shows in New York so we had to go on the road all the time to play , that's what killed our band , cause we were a New York band and we couldn't play in New York it sucked !

Hardcore was dead in NYC till 1993 , in 1993 a club called Coney Island High started hosting Hardcore shows again , and this time , I knew it could be different , so me and my friends Policed the Scene , beating down anyone Targeting kids in the Pit . We came at it trying to regain what we once had , I had another band goin and I used to annoce on the stage "If your new in the Scene , your our pride and joy cause your building up the scene again , we got rid of that New Jack Mentality , I know the first person who started kicking in the Pit , his name is Malta The Damager , he is a wreslter in NYC and he's 6 foot 10 inches and no one was gonna say shit to us , we were trying to elevate it , and we made sure everyone was welcome at Hardcore Music shows , Metal Heads wearing Doc Martins , that didn't matter to us , we were never racist about what someone was wearing , we were just interested in listening to the music , closing your eyes , letting the music fill your soul and move you to dance and react to the Music , we made Hardcore Music Rise Up from the ashes in a new and better way , there's only about 10 or 15 kids left from the original Scene , they all left , they were all my friends and I miss the original Scene , but I'm also very proud of what we did for New York Hardcore music in NYC , we truely brought it to new levels , with respect for one another and no hang ups and treating each other like a true family !

Hardcore Music is about reacting to the music through dancing your ass off and singing along and stage diving . And we made sure everyone was invited .

In 1994 Castle Heights in Queens New York opened up it's doors to us , and we all treated the club with a lot of respect , Yes , we had a lot of fights , but that was when people started targeting , other people in the Pit , we called them Head Hunters , people dancing just to Fuck up people , so we beat their asses out of our Scene or they learned .....

"It's not about that one guy going all out for himself , it's about that one guy going all out for the group trying to make it the best show possible .

Castle Heights shows lasted for over 10 years , straight , always throwing Hardcore shows there , there's not been another club in NYC that can say that .

Right now , Queenz has a new club doing three or four shows a month this club is called The Redzone , and kids there are welcome to come and do what-ever they want , new dance moves , dancing hard , two stepping , just straight up having fun , and not worring about some asshole swinging a hammer or a chain in the Pit . Or some assholes jumping you just because your wearing Doc Martins and have long hair .

I'm very proud of us , we have shows in NY now and 200 to 400 kids come out to the small clubs and we still have shows in Mahanttan where 1,500 to 3,500 kids show up and you should see me , shaking over 1000 hands , The New York Hardcore Scene in NY is real tight and everyone respects each other and the bands are all trying to elevate it and the kids are dancing hard trying to elevate it too , that's what it's all about trying to do something different and new , and we have true Unity in NY now , and it's been a long road but we've achieved it . By being straight up and treating each other like family .

So , when you say , why is Chris Beee posting up his personal info on the PRHC website , it's because I look at all of you like my true brothers and sisters . That's what the Hardcore Music Scene means to me "Family" , I've met the best people in my life through this scene and it's a lot harder to be friendly with people , then it is to be a faceless person , just going to show to show by yourself .

Like the Metal Scene , those dudes are just running around into each other face first , not giving a shit about each other , to the NY Hardcore Scene that's some homo stuff . We believe in treating our Scene like family , true friends are the hardest thing to come by in life . If you have one good friend your lucky . And through Hardcore Music I seriously have millions of friends I concider my family .

And I'll always write my EGH fans back , and invite them to our pratices , becuase in my heart I've never met a stranger in life .

And becuase to us in the New York City Hardcore Scene we truely treat each other like a family and I see that in Puerto Rico , I'm very proud of your Scene there and the way your all trying to elevate it , we're all trying to build up the scene and take it to a new level . Through true Brotherhood . And doing it Sraight From The Heart !

Sorry so long , let me know what you think ,
I can't read in Spanish sorry .

One Scene
One Family

Meh, jock mentality? I think it's more like FUN. Yo, if you're out in the city at night you have the risk of getting beat; that's life. If you can't handle it, stay in the rich neighborhoods, you know what I mean? People get beat up all the time, you have to live with that shit. Like today, I just got back from a pretty good night and a few bottles were smashed over some hippie-crusty ****s. It's all good, we're all having a good time y'know?

Haha, I'm glad someone else finds it funny. It's a generalization but yo, most hippies are squatting, drug using, good-for-nothing morons. You're part of the scene too, you know how we all hate hippies :D

Well that's good. I get images of me walking in to a show up there "Hey guys, I'm from Seatt*smash*" "Oi, get im fellas, he's one of those hippie anarchist Seattle scene pussies arrrrggggg!!!!!!".

Nah, if you're cool, you're cool. Today I was with some guys from Chicago and shit, it's all good.

I guess you're right, but yo that's how it is. When you have 20 skinheads drinkin' on a saturday night, you can't expect nothin but a fight, y'know? We don't start shit with random people, only real morons like hippies and kids with anti-american flags and shit. You have your own street-politics, that's cool and all but when you're out there drinking a beer, you want to fight. Atleast, that's what I want.

Anyway, I was out there a few months ago. Next time I will definitley get ahold of you. New York is a crazy place coming from Seattle.

Definitely, yo just email me or send me a message before you come. I'll give you my cell phone number so you can call me up when you get here. Are you coming over the summer? I'm going back to my hometown, Seoul, with a friend of mine but I'll be bak in July.

I will stay out of the feud between NYHC kid, Emo boy and Hippie face.

Too late now, punk *****.

So basically you're no different than the junked-up ****s who wander the streets of any town all night looking for kids who look "weird" to fight??

Fucking moron.

No, but I respect the country for it's positives.

Yeah, once in a while we go out and start fights. But fuck, we're skinheads, that shit comes to us all the time.

There's a difference between respecting the country's positives and having an unhealthy case of red-blooded gung-ho American Nationalism. Beating up people with anti-american flags doesn't sound to me like just respecting the positives.

That's the worst "argument" I've ever heard.

I know plenty of skins who are actually interested in being themselves. You seem too scared to be yourself so you hide behind ignorant gang mentalities and regurgitate the same bullshit they tell you and believe me, it sounds much dumber on the internet than it does on the mean streets of New York that rad dudes like yourself walk at night (but not on school nights).

His attitude is quite disturbing, that combined with this statement:

By the way, I'm not a leftist anymore. I'm not politically affiliated, politics only leads to trouble.
and this one:

We don't start shit with random people, only real morons like hippies and kids with anti-american flags and shit.
makes me wonder why the fuck he's not in OI.

What the hell is this? Analyze everything I say?

I'm so cool, I'm the toughest guy in the country and the world. I beat up like 30 hippies and stuff and then I drank lots of beer because beer is for cool people. After that I walked down the streets at night because I like own them. Then I beat up some cops because All Cops Are Bastards!

Oi!

And aren't the right to protest and have differing beliefs some of those positives?

But it's wicked to see what you guys think. I found that thing from Everybody Gets Hurt that GR posted was really interesting, thanks for that!
