Good god, these guys rock!
Anyone like The Mars Volta?
Their stuff is really great, except their vocalist who isn't very impressive. Other than that, they're possibly one of my favourite contemporary bands.
What do you guys think?

they are very good but after you have heard At The Drive In they do not sound like much

Hell yeah! In that other thread I got the impression you didn't like them. Usually when people say "Freaking A" (which is a stupid saying anyways :P ), it's out of frustration or something. I've only heard one of their songs. I'm feelin it :)
At The Drive in is good too. I love that scissors song.

I've got deloused in the comatorium, one of my fave cd's. It's great stuff but it's kind of prog so some people don't like it.
Course it's very different from ATD-I, but personally I prefer MV.

Bullshit. I've been into At The Drive-In sine the In/Casino/Out days. I've seen them in concert.
The Mars Volta shits all over At The Drive-In. And, as far as performances, At The Drive-In can't come close to the show The Mars Volta can put on.
The Mars Volta makes At The Drive-In look like Sparta.

Serious? I reckon Cedric Bixler is the heart and soul of that band.

I have no idea who's the soul of the band, but his voice isn't very impressive and it stands out.

His voice is awesome, Cedric is a great vocalist!!
I prefer ATD-I to MV thought, relationship of command is a classic album.
The Mars Volta rules, they can kick it Spanglish better than Ricky fucken Martin!
But seriously, I saw one of their performances on the tv, and cedric bixler definitely is the heart of their live experience. Since buying deloused in the comatorium, I have named it my "number one greatest high album ever", number two is Spiritualized's "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space".

I still have a Mars Volta badge pinned to my tie.
I thought they have a lot of good stage charisma

yes they kick. I love the Mars Volta and I have most of the albums At the drive-in released. One armed scissor = sweet. I was trying desperately to see them when they were playing with the chili peppers (2 favorite bands, could you ask for any more?) but didn't work out. When the technician guy died, that hurt but they kept goin strong.

Hadn't heard too much of them until i saw them before the Chilis.
They are one of my favorite bands. At the drive in was also awesome, and I seem to be one of the few people that likes Sparta. TMV are the greatest, though...damn, De-Loused in the Comatorium is great. Especially while high.

Can't you see I have four blocks, am a comandante, and have far greater message board seniority than you? Your opinion is worthless to me! Nobody gives a fuck about your thoughts! I win!
Fucking right!
