Here is an extract from Coke's 2001 annual report.
Advertising Costs.
Our company expenses production costs of print, radio and television advertisements as of the first date the advertisements take place. Advertising expenses included in selling, administrative and general expenses were $1.97 billion in 2001, $1.655 billion in 2000 and $1.609 billion in 1999.
Here is the board of directors:

It more than $1 billion.that could just be some of their advertising money maybe just america.Last year they were forced to cut down on expenditure because of law-suits in e.g belgium where a load of people got sick from contaminated coke.

Its product placement, not advertising. Everyone knows who coke are, but in multi-national advertising stratergies you have to keep on pushing and pushing until you have the strongest brand name around.

We pay for water just like we pay for everything. Maybe not air but there must be some rediculous one for that as well. We pay for everything.

Like I have said, I suffer from caffeine dependence, so I struggle to get through a day without two litres of Diet Coke and several cups of coffee. I'm not proud of it, but it's something that has to be done...I don't even like the fucking taste that much!!!

Pastra, I didn't mean to diss your post, I'm just quick at finding financial info that's all. Clearly almost $10 bil has been spent in the last 5 years, and it's an obscene amount of money.
I think coke is successful in the 3rd world because they can't drink the water.

Not really, you can happily store and collect your own water supply but it takes land, technology and effort to do it. In Britain they dont really sell you the water, they sell you the service of collecting, treating and disposing of it.
Plus, you cant get coke on tap. ;)
