View Full Version : A New Communist International

It seems as though communism/socialism is currently at a very low point in the world and imperialism has become rampant. The Communist International grouped together fledgling parties from all over the world and grew them into powerful political powers, what does everyone think about possibly creating a new Communist International to strengthen the global struggle against capitalism and connect leftists around the world once again? The Socialist International seems weak and controlled by capitalists such as Tony Blair so I began thinking about what it would take to create a new communist international.

Well, of course it would be good, but how to start? How to connect with the socialist parties all around the world? I'm a bit sceptic about this

it would require lots of co-ordination, but something like this would be amazing and could kick-start the communist movement again.

There are already internationales that are operating...

International Socialist Group - Fourth International (http://www.isg-fi.org.uk/fi/fi1.htm)

The Anarchist International (http://www.anarchy.no/ai.html)

Workers Solidarity Movement policy statement - Anarchist International (http://flag.blackened.net/revolt/ppapers/build_inter.html)

You can check a lot of the different internationals plus single groups on this site http://www.broadleft.org/index.htm
It has everything from Social Democrats till obscure maoist groups.

From what I know the 4. International don't function as one more, but more as a loose gathering of groups. In Brazil they even have 2 because they can't get along
One of them is supporting the "economic reforms" I think.

I think the idea of a new Communist International should be seen from a broader perspective than existing factional groups.

'Course that also means it'll take longer and will depend on major new developments in the class struggle...

Just as the Third International was formed in the wake of the Russian Revolution and brought together people from different ideological backgrounds, based on a common response to WWI and the Russian Revolution.

You already have "New Internationalist" what more do you want?

(If you want to join my "Next International" your quite welcome to, so long as you subscribe to the six point plan.)

Basicly we already have lots of 'Internationals' and you want another one? How 'bout forming links between the ones we already have?
