no, I don't say, that only Americans have prejudices against blacks. I say, that blacks are opressed in the USA - there are differences between prejudices and opression!!
But if more black people are in prison, why is this? They had to commit a crime to get INTO prison, yes? And while sometimes they are innocent, and they are prejudiced against, the same goes for normal, white Americans, who just happen to run into a bad cop.

another thing 'bout the USA:
* in some states, the district (is this the correct word? - you see, i'm interested to learn other languages...) judges get elected by the men and women entitled to vote.
In times of elections the rate of death sentenceses get much higher than in "normal" times! Are there more murderers in election times?!?
* From the "murderers" who have the money to do this, the majority gets a more mildly judgement in appeal! Is it good to allow people to elect their own judges?!?
People are corrupt, you can't change that. But it's up to you, personally, to be tolerant. And while people say "one person doesn't make a difference", they do - and maybe they will learn from your example.

Another few things about your wonderful country, the USA:
* The U.S. did sign the Geneva Conventions. What's about the "prisoners" in Guantanamo? If monkeys would be treated like these human beings - Greenpeace would free them!
* What's about Vietnam? What's about the nuclear bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
When another country had did such things - the USA would shoot on their government, civil peoples and industry. At least, they would get a new US-made "democratic" constitution...
