What should the Italian people do? If they protest and change the course of their government, will they be free of terror?

Berlusconi and the wimpy Italians created this situation for themselves by negotiating with terrorists in the first place. Does anyone here think the KGB trained dictator of Russia would allow himself to negotiate with terrorists, be blackmailed, or perceived as a weak wimp? Hahahahaha. Not a chance and hell. The Italians should start taking Iraqis hostage, and demand that Arafat and Hamas withdraw from Yesha.

I hope they don't pull a softie-Spain and pull out at the terrorist's request. How do terrorists spell victory?

Spain pulled out not because they were scared of the terrorist but because the new government didnt support the war so they pull out... thats just what you do if you dont support something dont you?

Well, then it was very ill-timed.

They (Spain) sent the world the wrong message. Regardless of the real reason they left Iraq, terrorists fully believe that they can make spain capitulate to their demands by killing its citizens.

The first thing I thought when I heard that was 'al queda is trying to undermine war protests.' Seriously, the one thing they could do to cause the international war protest movement to lost popular support is support, especially in this way. Al-queda telling people to protest? Who the hell's going to protest now?

Osama isn't stupid. No doubt he saw what happened to groups like IRA or in the case of Spain ETA when they tried to push their luck with too many attacks. If you attack them once, they will try to avoid being a future target, like any sensible person. However, if they are the target of repeated attacks, they will harden their hearts and fight back. In fact the Partido Popular got elected on a platform of taking a hard stance against ETA.

The question goes out to all of you who were posting of your exploits while protesting. Would you have protested against the invasion of Iraq if you knew you were doing the bidding of a terrorists? Will you continue to protest even if it contributes to the success of the likes of the Green Brigade?

Anyone up to explaining to the Green Brigade leader how you are opposed to the Coalition's presence in Iraq but are not on the Green Brigade's side?

No takers? I didn't think so.

Never have things been so clear.

That's kind of what I was trying to say. Of course, no sensible person would abandon their rational position on Iraq (that the US pull out) because of something Bin Laden said, however it could take some of the enthusiasm out of the more mainstream liberal 'peace is patriotic' type protestors.

just hold two placards - 'FUCK BUSH' and 'FUCK OSAMA' ;)

Seriously though, which way do people think Osama is trying to bend things? Either forcing the hand of the US into fighting and gaining international support that way, or the opposite - trying to buy time by intimating his support of the protestors?

From my standpoint it certainly seems he's trying to undermine the protests and get support back behind the imperialists. That way his conscience is lessened should he hit 'innocent' targets. Bearing in mind that the targets he hit previously were significant of what he opposes (Pentagon and WTC - imperalist militarism and capitalist endeavours)

So with that said where would my loyalties lie? well nowhere really... but I still say the US should pack up and go home <_<

You know terrorists aren't some sort of evil creatures, they are humans. Often highly educated, who have a reason for their actions. People use terrorism as a last resort, when they get really desperate. Due to a lack of enough military hardware, resources and support. Do you really think that they would use their current methodes, if they had the same military machine as the US has to fight back the US?

What OBL, the Iraqi resistance and many others want, is that the US leaves their country. You're making matters only worse by staying there. You, Imperialist Capitalist are sending a wrong message in to the world, it's not Bush's daughter's or none of the congressmen's offspring who die in Iraq. It's you, the ignorant Patriotic American. It's not you who benefit from this war, it's your class who does the suffering.

Allways ask yourself what people's motives are. They don't change from "good" citizen into terrorist without a reason. They don't start hating the US, just on a day. Note that the US, is the most hated country in the world, ask yourself why.
