it provides a pessimistic view of Che, which is not really popular at this board, for good reason of course.
umm, but i think they do the same thing alotta ppl here do - and that is, offer an unbalanced view of the man. Ppl there treat him as if he were a devil-incarnate, while some ppl here view him as a Saint, and some Messiah.
The guy had his good and bad points just like 6 billion other humans, what we should try to do is not feel offended when someone blasphemizes the guy. I mean, Matt Helm in his article ("The Che Myth") does raise a good point - Che wouldnt want his face plastered everywhere for capitalistic gain...
Anyway, i didnt take too much offense to what they had to say...you can always learn something from an opinion. But like i said, the makers of the site fall into the same trap many do here - Che was not some evil monger nor was he some saint.

Sorry about my earlier post. I get angry when anyone bashes a figure I respect. I can understand his point of view, and the others who feel the same. But I somehow doubt he respects our's.

Just a lot of Republican hot air trying to stop what they can not stop, Che was a good person and his message was true, it gives us strength when we are oppressed by forces around us.

There are hardly any articles there, and none of them are well written or even the slightest bit credible. It's all here-say.

They asked for a response so I sent them one let's see what they have to say.
My response:Your information is biased, incorrect, and in several cases I beleive likely constitutes hate literature.
I am a political science student and am quite familiar with all the material concerning this individual. I beleive your character assasination of an individual who spent his life fighting for the poor and for autonomy for small countries, shows you to be very poor christians, and ignorant ill-informed capitalists bent on greed and oppression of the third world.
In conclusion I would greatly appreciate a copy of your bibliography. Which of course should be disclosed on the site if you do not wish your theories to be automatically dismissed by educated indiviuals.
Thank you for your time.

When he whimpered to his American-trained captors in Bolivia, "Don't shoot – I'm Che! I'm worth more to you alive than dead!" he had a point.
Hmm...right...
The reason why websites like these are made is because they are scared, they are doing the same with Bin Laden, they are very afraid that this person might actually change things (well Bin Laden..we all know September 11).
The US is shitting their pants if Che really did get Latin America to become socialist and no longer as a "backyard" for the US, that is what they fear, they want to use Latin America for it's cheap labour, natural recourses, "cheap" land, and just suck it dry.

The person who didi that site is most likely a sad, lonely little cappie, spending hours on his/her computer concoting silly, baseless stories about Che and other people he/she may or may not disagreee with politically.
Just ignore the wierdo. Its people like him/her that cannot be educated to reaolize what Che did.

"What do white, middle class american college students have in common with Che?"
The fact that he was born into a well-off family, and lived a good life, and went to medical school, and saw the injustices of the people when he took his fateful trip via motorcycle. The fact that he was mostly of spanish and a little irish descent, unlike those who he helped, those of black, spanish, and indian descent, mostly mixed. That's what.

Although overall che was a good person, you have to admit he did some horrable things. You all act as if Che was the most peacefull guy on the earth.

Che wasnt perfect as he was a human being. But he was a good human being. At least he was not greedy, or selfish, or lazy. Instead he was a revolutionary.

There is a comedic essence to the articles written there. But you have to understand why these people feel this way. They can not force their ideas on us and in the same manner we can not force our ideals on them. Only through understanding will we succed.
