80% of the population supports him. He has indeed hold elections and that's why he is president. Maybe you talk about the recall referendum? First of all the only reason that can be held is because Chavez introduced the law himself. The opposition even got signatures from death people and people on mental institutions. A journalist taped a telephone call between 2 of their leaders were they admitted it. Instead of answering the allegations they sued him.
