MAYDAY
A celebration of workers resistance, the MayDay march is following the recently established route of Clerkenwell Green to Trafalgar Square. Artists are organising to give the events a carnivalesque feel, speakers lined up for the rally at the end include Ken Livingstone and our own Kate Connelly.

INSURGENCY
At the end of MayDay, what better way could there be of going to one of the most multi-faceted parties around INSURGENCY will feature films, live music, DJs and a visual fiesta, with added laser show. All for a fiver.
Doors open at 8pm. We have a few classic political and anti-capitalist films to show, then four live acts lined up. The two rooms allow for a chilled mellow space and then, in the back room the music gets louder and livelier with DnB, Hip Hop, Electro Nu Skool Beats and House. Download the flyer from the website.

If you can help, in the last week or so, to promote the event (getting flyers into shops and cafés and outside clubs etc.), pick up a bunch of flyers at the conference or give us a shout at the office on 020 7053 2071.

STUDENT STOP THE WAR MARCH
Student Stop the War Coalition have called a demonstration to the US Embassy (less of an embassy these days, more of a fortress). Specifically timed so you don't have to play truant to get there (it starts at 5pm). It has support from FOSIS, the national federation of Islamic student societies and Student CND. They are allowing non-students and people visibly older to attend.

DADDY BUSH COMING TO LONDON
George Bush senior, the one who not only started Gulf War 1 but also managed to spawn one of the most revolting humans ever to live, is coming to London. He's coming to appear at a fundraising function to make money for the stupid son's election campaign. We owe it to the world to make sure this doesn't go without a hitch. The Stop the War coalition have called a protest outside the venue of the dinner where Bush older speaks after dinner.
GET BUSH!

LE PEN IN BIRMINGHAM
A bitter and nasty collection of nazis and fascists are gathering for warmth in Birmingham on Sunday. The British National party are launching their Euro-election campaign with the assistance of Jean Marie Le Pen, nazi leader from France. The BNP's getting serious about getting one of their sort (in this case Nick Griffin, their leader) elected to the European Parliament in the Proportional Representation election on 10 June. PR means a vote cannot be wasted so, who ever you vote for in the Euro elections it will count against the BNP, so don't forget.
Unite Against Fascism have called this protest to strip the nazis of any respectability they might be trying to muster:
STOP LE PEN AND THE BNP
Sunday 25 April, 3pm, Victoria Square, Birmingham city centre
