Hey all,

Many of you may already know about this, but if not:

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/) is a free online Encyclopedia. When I say "Free", I mean truly Free, not just in price or even accessibility, but free as in open; freedom of speech, thought, expression, etc.

It is basically run in a collective fashion, anyone can add to or edit entries, or create new ones.

There is already thousands of entries and it is changing and expanding by the minute (literally).

I contributed to some of the entries, such as the CPC, CPC(M-L), Hardial Bains, and Maoism.

The good thing about it, is you can contribute a lot, or just a little. If you see something you disagree with, you can debate it with others before you make the changes, or just change it right away!

Anyways, I hope some of you will check it out, and even contribute. All the entries automatically are relased under the GNU/Documentation licsence, so you can be assured no corporations can profit from your work!

As if the internet was not already an unreliable source of information, they actually made an encyclopedia where any random person could contribute to a referance article.

There is now no need for people to make their own website to disinform, they can simply write on Wikipedia.

True, its not so bad. Not many people would be bothered putting in dodgy entries, I doubt its what passes for a good time anyway.

I hope you're right, I've made a few contributions to the site myself. But I stopped after they told me I wasn't being objective. I wonder if others will feel a similar effect for giving, "revealing," information.

Either way, I've made it a point not to have any internet site as a major information source, there's no way I would feel secure enough to repeat what I read online in public. I stick by my claim that an open source encyclopedia is an easy way for disinformers to reach a wide audience.

It's a very good website. I knew about it, but thanks for posting it for the others since I think any beginners who would wanna grasp of some facts can refer to this informative website.

So long as what you are reading isn't anything to do with politics, philosophy, religion or similar, most things are pretty good. With these, you really should know a little bit a least before you read the articles.
Some articles to keep an eye on include
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism (they have left my bit about Anarcho-capitalism being oxymoronic!)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism (esp. this one!)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitalism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_Science (any of the topics).

I think you could get away with it, but you have to make sure you aren't attacking them. You point out the technical error of them being classed as capitalists. If you aren't objective, there is no way it will be let through.

== The Commie Club ==
The Commie Club, which got its name as a joke, is the decision-making body of the community on Che-Lives. It began simply as a way to have debates amongst leftists over the many different tendencies within the radical left without having to repeat "left vs. right" debates in every thread. Its original purpose was soon meaningless as the policy of restricting right-wing members was adopted. As the site grew however, its founder was in need of more help in keeping the site up and running. Thus began the selection of Moderators by vote, and the Commie Club's designation as a "Democratic decision-making body".

It began as a forum where any dedicated leftist, after a month and at least 50 posts, could send a message to an Administrator and be allowed in. Eventually as the site grew, a process was adopted to involve the entire Commie Club in recruitment. It was a process of nominations, whereby members nominated others and other members had to second the nomination.

Recently a long-lost Admin has returned. And the name now changes with the wind.

More recently, the site has backed away from its institutionalized positions against Stalinism, though more and more board members have become Anarchists. Instead, the criticisms most often levelled against Che-Lives today is one of elitism or a lack of political tolerance"

keep up the good democratic ways
