CBC Article on Guantanamo Bay cases (http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2004/04/20/world/guantanamo040420)

does anyone else find this a little silly? Do people actually think that these non-pow prisoners will get any sort of just ruling from the US Supreme Court where the judges aren't independent in any way shape or form? SHouldn't this really be a case for the ICJ? I think this is another attempt by the USA to justify their treatment of the prisoners at guantanamo bay. Its a way of making US actions legitimate in the eyes of the public, when in reality, there is no actual fair hearing occuring.

So frustrating.

That's a shame, using the good name of democracy for this farce. There is little chance that they would let the Court limit their powers during war.

U.S. Solicitor General Theodore Olson. He said "the United States is at war"

In other words, we're protecting you fools let us do whatever we want.

Good ol show trials, they never get old.
